These Georgians are hilarious. They vote side-by-side with Azerbaijan on Artsakh issues and then they state they are saddened when we vote against them . Poor, poor Georgia...

This country of Georgia (more accurately the Government) just gets on my nerves so much. The constant ass kissing of anything West and desire to look like a peaceful, "democratic" country in central Europe just makes me sick. They just have a typical identity complex, especially since we have made so much of their country and culture. If you really want to become sick, look at some of their tourism commercials or commercials for investments. They are more accurately an outpost of the American neo-cons and war hawks. Idiotic Government - can't stand it - hope they fall quickly.

Tbilisi sad about Armenia’s vote against UN resolution on refugees

PanARMENIAN.Net - Official Tbilisi considers it ‘sad’ that Armenia did not support Georgia during voting for Resolution on Refugees in the UN, Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Nino Kalandadze said.
Last week, the UN General Assembly with a 57-13 vote passed a resolution on “Situation of internally displaced persons and refugees from Abkhazia, Georgia and Tskhinvali region/South Ossetia, Georgia” submitted by Tbilisi.
As Kalandadze told a briefing, “Georgia and Armenia have problems under discussion, including the above mentioned issue.”
“We know Armenia’s stand on conflicts which proceeds from its subject matter and which differs from Georgia’s view, and we openly state to our Armenian friends that such position in not admissible for Georgia,” the Deputy Minister said.
She also noted that “the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Georgia before voting in the UN had addressed an official letter to the Armenian MFA head with a request for support.”
“We regret to face the fact that Armenia did not share our official stand on this issue. Moreover, we stated that this resolution is of merely human character and does not underlay any political motivation,” said Kalandadze.
The Deputy Minister stressed that “the official Tbilisi will continue efforts to assure colleagues from Armenia in credibility of its stand,” Novosti Gruzia reported.

Armenia and Georgia maintain closest ties ever - Georgian FM

Today Armenia and Georgia maintain the closest ties ever, though the two states never had serious problems in the past, Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze told reporters following the meeting with his Armenian counterpart Edward Nalbandian.

The Armenian FM has paid a working visit to Tbilisi, Georgia Online reports. The meeting was held behind closed doors and the ministers give brief comments to reporters.

“We hold 3-4 meetings a year and discuss all issues on time. This time we discussed common issues,” Vashadze stressed.

Armenian minister Nalbandian said they touched upon development of bilateral relations, particularly economic issues, as well as regional problems, without specifying them. He expressed content with the level of relations with Georgia.

“There is no issue not to be solved in a bilateral format,” he emphasized.

Turkish prime minister has a Georgian origin. Unfortunately he supports Georgians against Abkhazians. He does not like us(Abkhazians and Circassians)

Eduard Shevardnadze says Georgia must recognize Abkhazia’s independence

PanARMENIAN.Net - Former Georgian President Eduard Shevardnadze said it would be “wise” for Georgia to recognize Abkhazia as an independent country.

“It’s clear Abkhazia can’t be a normal region of Georgia any longer,” Shevardnadze said in an interview published in the Asaval-Dasavali newspaper. Recognizing the region would improve relations between Georgians and Abkhazians, he added, the newspaper said.

Shevardnadze was responding to comments by Mamuka Areshidze, an analyst at the Caucasus Strategic Research Center, who said two weeks ago that Georgia should consider recognizing Akhazia’s independence, Asaval-Dasavali reported.

Abkhazia and South Ossetia, declared independence after a five-day war between Russia and Georgia in August 2008. Only Russia, Nicaragua, Venezuela and the South Pacific nation of Nauru recognize their independence. Georgia maintains Russia occupied the two regions after the conflict, Bloomberg reported

This would be a very positive development. Georgia would thereafter improve relations with russia, and set an example for the Baboons to follow with regards to Artsakh.

I don't have any hope that Saakashvili and his cronies will do that, but definitely a possibility if a more sane minded person is president and understands that Georgia has no other alternative.

Georgia’s authorities insist on English version of the country name

PanARMENIAN.Net - Authorities of Georgia call on international community to use an English version of the country name, that is, Georgia, (not Gruzia), according to Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Nino Kalandadze.
“We have already come out with this initiative long ago, and addressed an official request to many countries to change the country name, and call it officially by an English version,” said Kalandadze adding that Korea first reacted on this request and already fixed the change of the country name.
“We highly praise the decision of Korea, as many our friends and adherents, despite their numerous promises, cannot realize it yet. Although, we understand that change of country name is connected with technical and financial issues,” GHN quoted the Georgian Foreign Minister.
