"Aliyev claimed the Armenian presence in Georgia's Black Sea region of Ajara is part of a long-term plan to annex the area. "For Armenians, access to the Black Sea means the realization of the idea of a 'Greater Armenia from sea to sea,'" Azerbaijan's APA news agency reported on February 24."

"[The Black Sea resorts of] Kobuleti, Batumi, and other regions in Ajara are being 'Armenianized,' Armenians are being resettled there," Aliyev claimed. "This is a great threat. Taking into account the fact that in 2009-10 hundreds of Ajaran families moved from Ajara to other regions of Georgia as migrants, we'll see where these processes will lead the Georgians."

I think Georgia is more likely, since Russia wants to control it anyway. If georgia is going to screw us, what choice do we have?

I think the prudent way to go is for Georgia and Armenia to ignore the Azeris on this issue. The Azeris are trying to create more tension between Armenia and Georgia. Lately it seems the Armenian and Georgian government are getting along much better.I think the Georgians even realized it is better to have Armenia as a friend than an enemy as they have trouble enough with Russia. Armenia also benefits from Georgian stability. The Georgians have actually welcomed Armenian investment in Georgia for obvious reasons and most of the Armenians who travel to Georgian are seasonal tourists. The Azeris are pissed that Georgia is not blockading Armenia. If the situation in Javakh worsens, then we'll see what happens but as of now Georgian-Armenian relations have improved somewhat.

Azeris can go whine all they want. The fact of the matter is Georgia-Armenia relations bring a lot of money, investment, and business to both countries, and Georgia is not going to give that up because of some pathetic Azeri demands. We should counter Azeri crying by strengthening relations with Georgia and making sure everything is stable in that respect. We can't really trust our neighbours even if there's open borders, the border with Iran is tiny and roads are bad there, our most important trade route is Georgia and like it or not we are economically dependent on their land.

PanARMENIAN.Net - The initiative to offer resettlement to boers, descendants of Dutch farmers, residing in South Africa, to Georgia, belongs to Georgian president, Mikheil Saakashvili, the first lady of Georgia, Sandra Elisabeth Roelofs stated.

Earlier, the opposition accused her of lobbying boers’ interests because of their Dutch origin.

Boers were offered to purchase lands in Georgia at low prices and invest in the country’s economy. The first boer farms will be formed in Georgia before the end of spring.

A www.boers.ge website was launched for boers who already resettled to the country. The resource provides an opportunity to address Georgian President with a request to grant Georgian citizenship, Vzglyad newspaper reported.

Neat move, but desperate. why would SA farmers settle in georgia, one of the most unstable countries in the world? They could be desperate themselves.

The immigration practices of countries is getting out of hand. The constant circle of slavery needs to be put to an end.
