Re: Dashnaktsutyun - Armenian Revolutionary Federation
Sounds like a neat book! The reason why "Lisbon 5" was not there is because the song was released after 1983. The song is about this specific event http://www.armeniapedia.org/index.php?title=Lisbon_Five

I didn't translate it myselfOriginally posted by Federate View PostDid you translate this by yourself Bell? That's pretty impressive if you did
Here's Mshag Panvor.
If anyone wants to take a crack at Lisbon 5, here's the song.
And here is the translation to Mer Hayrenik http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mer_Hayrenik#Lyrics
Got it from a book: "Armenian National and Revolutionary Songs" published in 1983 by the AYF. It doesn't have "Lisbon 5" unless it is there under a different title. Those wikipedia lyrics in English of Mer Hayrenik are the modern words, not the original ones. It's probably the original ones that Christina wants - I'll type them out when I have time, asap, unless someone else can give them sooner.

Farmer, labourer, working brother
Come, let us unite and march forward
Let us give our arms and backs
To the protector of toil and work, the Tashnagtzootun.
It is enough that we suffer, shed sweat,
blood earnings work to accumulate.
Exploiter parasites then come to waste
And leave dry bread for our share.
Then, black days, turn into protest
Blood, sweat, enter into pains of labor
Torment, deprivation, sprout tongues,
and open the way for the Tashnagtzootun.
Hmmm .. maybe the tune is good, I can't see many being roused to action by those word alone. And none of those who matter - those who would not consider themselves to be farmers, labourers, or workers.
Mer Hayrenik is better. Though I particularly like the words of Verkerov Lee.
How about a pm to say why you are wanting these.

Re: Dashnaktsutyun - Armenian Revolutionary Federation
Are you a total idiot? Do you know how to read? Can you tell the difference between explicit statements and implications that arise when one approaches an issue in a certain way? Are you sure you have a good enough command of the English language to actually understand what my comment meant.Originally posted by Haykakan View Postshow me a single example where as you claim i make any statement like Russia will take care of Armenia out of good will. I have never stated such a thing
How about you try one more time.
Your praise of Armenia's relationship with Russia did its best to suggest that in your opinion Russia is simply willing to take care of Armenia just out of good wills.
Oh wait, you do know how to read, so then your whole argument is that I can't make deductions from your statements? wow, isn't that new.Originally posted by Haykakan View Postand the fact that you are making inferences like that means you have no argument and are resorting to making up bs to smear rather then to rationaly make any useful point.
You can cling to Russia as much as you want.Originally posted by Haykakan View PostRussias and Armenias do coinside in very important areas thus clinging to Russia is indeed the right thing to do.
F&ck the Russia factor. The only relevance is the Armenia factor.Originally posted by Haykakan View PostArmenia should grow its own defence industry but in everything it does it has to keep the Russia factor in mind.
It's ok, people like you never get to power, but at least you acknowledge your own ignorance.Originally posted by Haykakan View PostThis is our reality and it is irrelavent of what ignorent people think so long as they are not in power.
Huh? Is that supposed to be an insult to me?Originally posted by Haykakan View PostThe worst possible thing would be to put somone like Levon in power and then watch Armenia deteriorate because he didnt understand the extent of our dependence on Russia and made foolish decisions earning Russian retaliation.
Only Armenians can guarantee the future of Armenia and its people, but you'll never understand that.Originally posted by Haykakan View PostYou indeed need to cling to Russia for it is the only gueranteer of any future for a Armenian state and its people.
That's true for everyone in post-soviet republics, not just Armenia. The fact is simple, the soviet-union simply could not sustain military competition and economic growth at the same time, and so it failed. It has nothing to do with clinging to Russia.Originally posted by Haykakan View Postthe standard of living even after all this time has yet to approach that which the armenian citizens enjoyed during the soviet era.

Re: Dashnaktsutyun - Armenian Revolutionary Federation
Your whole point is; to justify Russian unjust behavior towards Armenia, in any case, for some reason. Therefore no argument/s will change your mind; regardless how reasonable they are.Originally posted by Haykakan View PostMy whole point has been that Russia is doing with Armenia what is in her(Russias) best interest, show me a single example where as you claim i make any statement like Russia will take care of Armenia out of good will.
