I didn't translate it myself
Got it from a book: "Armenian National and Revolutionary Songs" published in 1983 by the AYF. It doesn't have "Lisbon 5" unless it is there under a different title. Those wikipedia lyrics in English of Mer Hayrenik are the modern words, not the original ones. It's probably the original ones that Christina wants - I'll type them out when I have time, asap, unless someone else can give them sooner.

Sounds like a neat book! The reason why "Lisbon 5" was not there is because the song was released after 1983. The song is about this specific event http://www.armeniapedia.org/index.php?title=Lisbon_Five

Let us give our arms and backs
To the protector of toil and work, the Tashnagtzootun.

It is enough that we suffer, shed sweat,
blood earnings work to accumulate.
Exploiter parasites then come to waste
And leave dry bread for our share.

Then, black days, turn into protest
Blood, sweat, enter into pains of labor
Torment, deprivation, sprout tongues,
and open the way for the Tashnagtzootun.

Hmmm .. maybe the tune is good, I can't see many being roused to action by those word alone. And none of those who matter - those who would not consider themselves to be farmers, labourers, or workers.

Mer Hayrenik is better. Though I particularly like the words of Verkerov Lee.

How about a pm to say why you are wanting these.

That's true for everyone in post-soviet republics, not just Armenia. The fact is simple, the soviet-union simply could not sustain military competition and economic growth at the same time, and so it failed. It has nothing to do with clinging to Russia.

Your whole point is; to justify Russian unjust behavior towards Armenia, in any case, for some reason. Therefore no argument/s will change your mind; regardless how reasonable they are.
