    Their aim could not have been the protocols since the protocols are a result of the Russo-georgian war last August. The west just wanted someone less pro Russian, and they thought they had their man in ltp. The elites are powerful but even they can't predict the future.

    The attempted one in March of 2008 was instigated by the west to create the instability and the flaws in Sarkissian's reign which we now see what the outcome was... the protocols. That's what the west aimed at and that's what they gave to Armenia. It was all planned.
