Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

This is the most ridiculous arguement. I surely forgot that you all who mock Agassi do so much for the greater good of armenians, Perhaps it was all of you who took it upon yourselves do rebuilt Yerevan's piazza as Kirk Kerkorian did, or perhaps it was one of you who established an Armenian High school, as Manoogian did in Montreal, "He who has not sinned shall cast the first stone", perhaps instead of calling yourself a christian you should listen to some of the material being presented to you. You should get off your high horses and stop mocking other Armenians just because they are not as vocal about their nationality as SOAD or they do not sign up to online armenian forums. Bicker amongst yourselves Ive said it plenty of times, the more you people argue, and the more you put down eachother, the less successful we will be as a whole and as a people.

    God Bless

Well....you may be partially right. I went to the doctor because things took a turn for the worse. He diagnosed me with AutoArmune disease. He suggested a highly controversial treatment not approved by the FDA, but shows very promising results in studies: Bastarma.

        He is Mostly Assyrian.

My good friend from HS is half Assyrian and half Armenian.
I have gone to Assyrian convention and Aggasi was there.

His dad may be half Armenian but not sure. His dad is definately involved in Assyrian events.

But no matter. Waste of bandwidth...and I just added to it.

I think this thread has gone on for far too long. I mean I think he's Armenian but come on now, 3 pages? 3 pages of people arguing about this? lol. I think there are better things to argue about than Andre Agassi's nationality.

He might be part Armenian on his mother's side, but I know for a fact that his father is Assyrian from Iran. On some website it says that his father is ethnic Armenian, but this information isn't valid. Look up the name Agassi, its Assyrian.
              Dear Sir,

It is so sad and pathetic, when representatives of small nations are arguing over the background of a celebrity... Who really cares? Why we do not argue with the same passion about negative and obviously BAD people?
If your background is Assyrian (and as a professional in History and Middle Eastern studies I do respect the history of Assyrian people), but you, for example, consider yourself as, let's say Polish, then you ARE Polish.
If Agassi considers himself Armenian then he is Armenian. I never heard him announsing anything about his ethnic background.
All this "samll talk" is worthless and a waste of time, beacuse the world will remember him as a great American tennis player.

              With all respect,

Agassi is Armenian, YAY YAY YAY
Well, if that doesn't tickle you Armenian pride enough,
couple of years before she died, Princes Diana (bless her soul) was seen going to a shop and buying some lavash. Also, she had an Armenian nose, kinda. Hence, she is (was) Armenian.
*Cheers" Canonize Lady Di, Canoinze Lady Di

Who cares if he's Armenian or is not an Armenian. He's a great tennis player. If he is Armenian (ethnically), then it's another example of our genetic superiority. If he's not, well at least we still have Dr. Kevorkian.
*Cheers* Canonize Dr. Death, Canonize ... hmm ahkm ,right.

I'll always think of him as the greatest athlete to come out of Las Vegas.

And what persecution would a person have to avoid in Las Vegas when his father supposedly shortened his name?
Fellow Armenians, this man is a liar or he's just confused, I can ASSURE you Andre is Armenian from his FATHER'S side. I've met his father and he's a hilarious parskahye

                      Re: Andre Agassi, not Armenian!???

Andre Agassi is Armenian. End of story. I met one of his relatives. She said the dad changed his name for 'migration purposes' from something like Minassian (I will not say, for privacy purposes) to Agassi. So can you Assyrians please shut up. Gosh darn. Just SHUT UP with this.
He married a freaking German girl anyways! He is 100% AMERICAN, anyways.

                      He is Armenian.

Now, do Armenians go and say Assyrian people are Armenian?

By the way, today's Kurds and Turks are 85% solen Assyrian and Armenian childen. And by the way -- I am the biggest lover of Assyrians...poor homeland-less, almost extinct people.

Finally. AGASSI appeared in an AGBU VIDEO called ARMENIAN AMERICANS which aired on PBS. He is ARMENIAN. END OF STORY. Now, if he is part Assyrian or something, who knows. Half the KURDS and TURKS are at least half Assyrian and Armenian from all the KIDNAPPINGS and ABDUCTIONS of Christians.
