so in your traditional society, people act decently out of fear mostly, not out of free will.
if that is all we have achieved in thousands of years of existence as a nation then there is little to be proud about.

Fear of the public opinion, at breaking moral/other universal values, is the greatest thing we have achieved in thousands of years of existence as a nation.

a significant portion of our nation is degenerating into nothingness.
who we are should not be based on approval / fear of public opinion.
people who rely on that are bound to assimilate to whatever environment they live in.

there is no intrinsic value in radical anti-conformism where radical anti-conformism is understood to be a systematic opposition to anything held to be true by public opinion.
(in fact, if you think about it, this is just another way of having one's conduct dictated by public opinion)
