Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

They've even snuck into Artsakh... http://www.womenofarmenia.org/en/about-us/wrca-shushi

The Center participates in a cooperative project with another women's organization in Baku as part of establishing a peace dialogue in the region.
The above must be a joke.

What's so bad about these programmes? Seem innocent to me.

''Nobody is Perfect''- an interactive workshop for mothers and their children(0-5 years).

''the women's coffee corner''- The center is open 4 days a week for all women who are greeted warmly by a staff member ready to listen to their concerns and suggestions around a cup of coffee.

''free gynecological consultations''- once a month a gynecologist is invited to the center to talk about important health issues concerning women and time is allocated for individual consultations.

''A taste of Shushi''- 100% natural and organic products: conserves, jams and dried fruits prepared by women.

on-going services: library, internet, English courses.

I don't know anyone who would use the word "feminism" in conversation, and the last time anyone has used it seriously in a political context is the 1970s. Only dinosaurs and fanatics use such words nowadays, like those who still go on about "communism" or "anti-communism" as if that had validity or relevance to everyday life.
For every 1 intelligent post you make, there are about 30 that can be classified as trolling or just plain asinine. Communism and Feminism are more relevant today than they were when the concepts were being rolled out to John Q Public.

It's funny, because prior to feminism, an average middle class woman was much better off than an average middle class woman now. She enjoyed the same standard of living, but didn't have to work. Working class women couldn't afford to stay home, they had to work. Upper class women still don't work. The only thing that happened is that middle class women now have to work, but their standard of living hasn't changed.

Feminism was never about equality. From it's early days, it's most vocal activists were almost all lesbian harpies and hated men. It was a movement against family. All of their early literature suggests that the main goals were to "free" women from family, and from children. This was so successful that now women simply cannot quit working. But feminists accomplished this through selling women the idea that they can have it all, and when the walls come crashing down you get a whole new generation of unhappy women, overworked and single. Whom to blame? Why, feminism has the answer again. Those vile, evil men keep women down. We need more laws to ensure women get treated more equally.

If anything, feminists are saying that women are dumb, irresponsible xxxxxs who should not be accounted for anything they do and constantly need help. If they are so equal, why all the laws specifically aimed at protecting and advancing women? Why is a man responsible for the baby, but a woman can kill it? If it's her body, then she shouldn't have gotten pregnant in the first place, but the hidden assumption is that it was the man's responsibility to not get her pregnant, not the woman's, hence he should be responsible for the baby, but the woman can kill it if she doesn't want it. In other words, a woman is a complete moron who doesn't know what the f#ck she's doing and should be bailed out when she realizes she has made a mistake. But a man, being the responsible one, should go with whatever the woman decides to do. So, woman = moron. But what feminist will admit this simple truth? Not a single one, because feminists don't have brains to begin with. Their entire thought process is formulated through emotion.

In my view, women should have the choice if they want to work or stay at home, or live on the streets, but given they go into the work field, there should be no special privileges for women and both men and women should be treated equally. Any attempt to raise the privileges of women above men is not 'feminism' anymore, if one is following the strict dictionary definition of that term.

When it comes to the whole baby thing, it's a bit more complicated, because in the end of the day it's the women carrying the baby, it's literally part of her body, thus it's natural laws regarding pregnancy will favour women.

The definition is general.... there are all kinds of feminism but the radical feminists are a few fries short of a happy meal.

You can call it whatever you want, but at the end of the day it's a woman killing her baby because she doesn't want it. The father has absolutely no say. If it was her body, she should have exercised restraint and not have gotten pregnant in the first place. She made a mistake and so should pay for it. You advocate equality, yet show a double standard here. Which is it?

No I do advocate equality, but since the circumstance is revolving around the woman's own body, maybe she should have more say in what happens.

Unless she got raped, she wasn't forced to have sex. It was her choice, to have sex, and hence it is her responsibility to have the child. Adoption is always an option. Abortion is a selfish move so that she never feels guilty about letting a child go. She has the freedom to have sex unmarried and thus she has the responsibility of the children her actions may produce.

Her body, her choice is bullxxxx, as once the baby is alive, it's no longer her body.
