Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!


2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged

    It upsets me that everytime we have to discuss women or racial issues this is how it ends. I was cheking out a soccer forum with a armenian thread and its the same bs there to.. somebody saw a black person in Yerevan and concluded that the whole country is being overrun by blacks and another guy was bragging about having sex with a azeri woman then proceeded to derate her. One common trend with all these types of things is the inability or unwillingness of some people to put themselves in other peoples shoes even when they are already wearing them. Some L.A. armos are discussing how foreigners from Africa and Iran are a using up the resources of Armenia as if the L.A. armos do not accept welfare nor do they scam the state or federal government. Hipocracy is the common trend observed among racists and sexists over and over again and it sickens me.

      Actually blacks are increasing in Yerevan. Though most use Yerevan as a transit point to Europe. Persians are mostly tourists, it's usually the Persian-Armenians taking up residency in Armenia. Fortunately they aren't a big problem.....yet.

              Oh I meant that the blacks/Persians aren't a big problem yet, not the Persian-Armenians. My sentence wasn't very clear I guess.

                Oh I see. No, you weren't very clear. If it follows a statement about a particular group, the natural assumption is that you're still talking about that group. I thought you were going to tell me about how the Iranian diaspora was somehow a problem.

                As for the black people... Where are they emigrating from?
                Personally, I don't have an issue with the color of anyone's skin. We're all African.

                  They are coming from mainly, poor African countries. There even some from Jamaica believe it or not. Apparently it is easier to get to US/Europe from Armenia so they use it as a transit point. They rent apartments and many live in them.

                  I just don't want Armenia to become multi-ethnic or start catering to the needs of other ethnic groups at the expensive of Armenians. Of course, we are far from that, so don't have to worry yet. Not to mention Africans from poor countries, that are such migrant workers can cause crime, spread disease, etc.

                    Couldn't you argue that almost any resource they use takes something away from Armenians?

                    I don't like this reasoning. It's bigoted and racist. You have no reason to believe they're more likely to spread disease or commit crimes. Armenia is full of the poor who are fed up with a country that hasn't taken care of them at all even with respect to basic needs. They're not going to be discouraged or destitute enough to commit a crime? They're not living in poor enough conditions for disease to be a concern? If they're renting apartments, they're far better off than many Armenians. If they fled a country that was even worse, don't you think they'd be on extra good behavior in their new country? Especially when the majority still stare like they've never seen a black person in their lives? If you're someplace where you're going to be readily labeled and blamed for any ill, I would think, assuming you'd like to stay and be welcomed there, you wouldn't be out committing crimes.

                    Maybe with regards to the treatment of women, you might find them to be a welcome addition to Armenia. Perhaps they can provide instruction on xxxxoral mutilation?

                      Have you seen the HIV rates in the poor African countries? They are at disaster levels, and for one, I wouldn't want something like HIV spreading more in Armenia. That's just one example. Second, many of those people are poor migrants. They aren't businessmen or academicians, but poor migrants, and will be more likely to commit crimes. They are fleeing to Europe not Armenia. Keep that in mind. Armenia is just a temporary place for them. Hence, they aren't going to me much mindful, after all, their mind is set on Europe not Armenia. I'm not being prejudiced just following common sense. Of course, we're talking like there's a huge influx of them. There isn't fortunately. More Persians than Africans, that's for sure.
