Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Neither are these people businessmen or academicians (academics, no?).

I'd be more afraid to cross one of the many Armo thugs, err I mean "businessmen," in Armenia.

Sounds like weak attempts at justification for racism to me. Let's agree to disagree.

I'm sorry but those people are Armenians. We have a duty to care for those Armenians in Armenia. We shouldn't have a duty to care for poor migrant workers from Africa using Armenia as a transit country. Especially since they do activities like this:

A criminal group of Africans arrested in Armenia
      15:50 . 19/03
Using operative data, the coworkers of Vagharshapat’s criminal intelligence department of the police have revealed and arrested a criminal group formed of foreigners in Tairov village in the region of Armavir.

The arrested are citizens of Liberia, Cote d’Ivoire and Nigeria. The foreigners were apprehended for a major fraud. The police found and confiscated a safety box, 1, 500 USD and special black chemical at the place of their residence.

It turned out that the criminal group has persuaded citizens that allegedly it is possible to make USD by means of that chemical, which doesn’t differ from the original currency and has demanded money beforehand to cover ongoing expenses. According to preliminary information, in this way the criminal group has managed to get 4mln USD.

Why aren't they taken care of then. Anyone that goes to Armenia to live off the government is deluded; they don't even take care of their own orphaned children, let alone adults or foreigners.
Don't then say that you don't want black people there because they're poor or whatever. Be honest about why don't want them there and join the Klan already.

The defendants, largely from L.A. and New York, allegedly are part of an Armenian organized crime outfit. Feds say they stole doctors' and patients' identities and submitted $160 million in bogus claims.

        October 14, 2010

Authorities arrested more than two dozen Los Angeles-area residents early Wednesday for their alleged roles in a nationwide scheme to bilk Medicare out of more than $160 million.

The investigation, dubbed Diagnosis Dollars, resulted in the arrests of 52 people across the U.S. in what authorities described as "the largest Medicare fraud scheme ever perpetrated by a single criminal enterprise."

The defendants allegedly are members or associates of an Armenian "organized crime enterprise" known as Mirzoyan-Terdjanian, according to federal law enforcement officials. They allegedly stole doctors' identities and used the information to enroll the phantom physicians as providers in Medicare, authorities alleged.

They then set up bogus offices and, using stolen beneficiary information, began billing for procedures that never occurred, according to a Department of Justice news release. Nationwide, the ring operated at least 118 phony clinics in 25 states and billed Medicare for some $163 million, officials said.

"Healthcare fraud that targets the Medicare program makes victims of all Americans," Steven Martinez, who heads the FBI office in Los Angeles, said in a prepared statement. In addition to the FBI and IRS, the probe involved local law enforcement agencies in various cities.

The investigation, officials said, was aimed at "top tier" medical fraud operators across the country and resulted in the indictments of 73 people in California, Georgia, New Mexico, New York and Ohio.

The Los Angeles-area defendants, many of whom are related, set up at least eight fake medical clinics and submitted $17 million in false claims to Medicare — $8 million of which were paid, federal officials alleged.

Some of the Los Angeles-area defendants were also allegedly involved in forged prescription sales and the illegal distribution of OxyContin, a painkiller so potent it is referred to as synthetic heroin and sells for up to $80 a pill on the street.

According to federal law enforcement officials, the alleged criminal enterprise is named for principal leaders Davit Mirzoyan and Robert Terdjanian, who are both charged in the indictment. Mirzoyan is based in Glendale, Terdjanian in Brooklyn, N.Y., authorities said.

Also charged is Armen Kazarian, described in an indictment filed in New York as a "Vor." The term refers to a select group of high-level criminals from the former Soviet Union, officials said.

Kazarian, based in Glendale, is the first alleged "Vor" ever charged with a racketeering offense, officials said. The last time a "Vor" was arrested on any federal charge was in 1996, officials added.

Some of the defendants could face life in prison and fines of $1 million or more if convicted, officials said.

Artak Karamyan, 28, a white man, was shot and killed at 12459 Oxnard Street in North Hollywood about 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 20. Within minutes, Paylak Harutyunay, 29, also a white man, was shot several times near the intersection of Vanowen Street and Coldwater Canyon Boulevard. Both men died at the scene.

Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department's North Hollywood Division responded to a report of a shooting, according to police, and found Karamyan dead with a gunshot wound to his chest. A few minutes later, a second shooting was reported about a mile and a half away. According to authorities, officers found Harutyunay fatally wounded from a "car-to-car" shooting. Police said Karamyan and Hrutyunay had been involved in a dispute with a group of men.

Police arrested Avetis Vartanyan, 24, on suspicion of murder. Authorities said a pistol was recovered from the yard of a home where Vartanyan had allegedly hidden.

Well every country has poverty. Including Armenia. My heart goes out for the people in poverty, but I can say that there are programs being enacted to help these people both from government and diaspora. Of course, our limited resources should be concentrated on Armenians not foreigners.

I don't want black people because the type of black people that come to Armenia are not people any country wants. Those blacks are generally not educated well, prone to criminal activities (has been done), and so forth. We shouldn't let such people use Armenia as a transit country. It doesn't better society in any way.

Yeah there's Armenian Mafia, there's also Italian Mafia, Russian Mafia, Greek Mafia, and the list goes on. Oh the Georgian Mafia in Europe is notorious. You should hear what people say about them.

Coldwater canyon, Vanowen st., N. Hollywood, etc. --- brings back memories ---.
I know that that area has been a haven for Armenians for sometime.
Strangely I never met another Armenian outside of family introduction my whole life(3 exceptions).
Everywhere I've been my whole life, except for family, I have -- always -- been the only Armenian.
My grandfather(mothers side) and my uncle(mothers sisters husband) both worked at the same company for minimum of 50 years. Each of them -- never -- missed one day. They were the only two in the entire company entitled to that claim.
Each was held in the highest regard. I also worked for that company and never missed one day. My accomplishments at that company earned me to be held in awe. All the Armenians(so few) that I met were held in the highest regards by the people I saw them come into contact with.
5years ago was my last vacation. When I went to the city of the angels to visit my family one of my cousins told me that there now existed an Armenian mafia. I remember I laughed. I really didn't quite understand.
The diaspora that came from the GENOCIDE somehow seem to be different in how they "carry" themselves, or at least some of them. ????

A few things have changed since those days and so have the people. The way people are now has a lot to do with capitalism replacing soviet mentality. This is not a armenian thing it is a byproduct of capitalism and the narcissism that accompanies it. Narcissism is on the rise worldwide and it stems mainly from judaism which encourages it. The spread of narcissism is a real threat to humanity.

Mos, are you related to ace by any chance? He used to post here ages ago. You kinda remind me of him.

I just had a look at the "Should Armenian women stay pure for marriage?" thread.

We've always been at each other's throats here, haven't we? I had forgotten all about Siamanto and Anonymouse's (and thedebutante's) war of words! Gawd, I was such a little xxxx, wasn't I? But I was a teenager then!
