ahhh yes, zareh....i've seen him on tv a couple of times...wow! some of those incoming calls! some armos are truely ignorant beasts! and i am confident that it is a very small minority amongst us! ---at least i hope so!---

i mean i hate that 'in your face' expressions of sexuality regardless of orientation, but whatever happened to live and let live? i don't agree with a lot of stuff around me, but i don't get into those people's faces and preach to them! what IS wrong with some of us?---

some one is a homophob. im not gay myself but i have many bi-sexual friends guys and girls and i have no problem with them. they are good friends.i mean i dont like it if one hits on me lol but that hasnt happen, but its thier way of life.

          • When I was younger I was homophobic. I actually asked people if they thought I could be a lesbian. They all laughed and reassured me that I am not of course. It was difficult to face that question though. Its a very serious life changing thing.

With age and certain experiences I have become more secure, and this is no longer a fear for me. I kind of wanna laugh when I see who guys kissing or something. It just looks so strange, almost like they are acting. I do my best to not hurt anyones feelings. I have just come to decide that it's not my place to judge these people. As long as they stay away from me and my family (husband and children), I don't care what their way of life is. As my new favorite saying goes, "Live and let live".

I can see how being Armenian and gay would be even worse than gay in most main stream American families. I wish that this simply didnt exist. Then again - I wish a lot of things didnt exist.

                • armobarbi you said "As long as they stay away from me and my family (husband and children)" my question to you is, since when have gay men and women ever came into your life and tried to convert you?

my best friend is a gay man... i just dont see him ever even trying to convince anyone that they are gay i am a bid puzzled at that statement... maybe you didnt mean that exaclty, but i am a supporter of gay acceptance in society, and even my gay armenian friend...

i also think "Live and let live" but that also means that in our society we should protect those that cant protect themselves and live their regular life... i want us to live our lives, but we cant when there are so many people that need the help to live...

i hope that wasnt too confusing

                  • I also was a bit hesitant with her statement "as long as they stay away..." etc - but I chose to give her the benefit of the doubt and interpret it as "live and let live". Perhaps she can clarify for us if she wishes.

                      1) It has nothing to do with converting anyone. I dont believe in that anyway. I dont like to see such relationships, and dont want my children to have to deal with the issue while they are young.

                      2) "Live and let live" doesnt suggest helping or protecting anyone. I support letting people live as they wish as long as they are not bothering anyone else, thats all.

                      3) Although I dislike the phenomenon, I really feel for these people, and in no way wish to make things worse for them. I have been attacked for certain things that were beyond my control and even choices Ive made, I know exactly how bad it is to attack people this way.

Why would your post be confusing?
