Did you go to those websites? What about relatives, did you try to learn from them? I am sure they would be proud if you asked.

sad eyes: hmmm, that may be a regional/dialect difference. in western armenian, 'abris' (literally: may you live) is used to mean something like 'good job.' it may very well be used for 'thank you' in eastern armenian.

kinda like 'vochinch' (nothing) being used to answer to 'vonts es' (how are you?) -- that sounds wrong and kind of rude to my ears, but it is a standard answer to the question in eastern armenian.

No, "abris" is not used for thank you in Eastern Armenian. Abris, like Che_Ka said, is used for saying "good job" when someone does something that you approve of, or admire.

As for Vochinch, yes it means 'nothing' , and it's used to say "it's o.k / it's nothing".
Like-- "knerek, dzer sexan@ jartetsi" "vochinch, nor@ k@ arnenk"
and Western Armenians in this case may say, "panm@ che, mek hat nor@ garnis mezi"
              ("panm@ Che"=It's nothing) used as "it's ok"

And as far as vochinch, as a respones to "how are you"--means "o.k", and it's not the proper use of the word, even in Eastern Armenian.

Oh yes, yes, yes, that is right. I was confused again. Thanks for clearing that up.

I am aware of the term "vochinch." So if someone were to come to me as say "Inch ka chika?" I can reply with "vochinch," correct?

correct, but the right answer (and a more optimistic one) is "jansaghutiun"
