Well when it comes to Islam it seems Shiites are OK toward us Armenians, however Sunnies are big trouble. They want us destroyed. Example would be Pakis, Aghkanis and such. Hell they don't even recognize Armenia as a country...furthermore they are ready to slaughter us due to their Islamic solidarity with Turkey and Azerbaijan (both a discrace to Islamic faith). In Iraq we were told that this is no longer our country and we have to leave or die.

You Islamic women are OK in my book.....actually you make very good wifes, are pretty, good mothers, and excelent cooks but your men are big trouble and if they ever show their faces in Armenia with weapons again we will send them to meet their 72 year old virgin (or wathever) like before.

The tension between Sunni and Shiite has always been a weak point which the west such as America has used to cause tension, in order to do the typical "divide and conquer" ... they have been made to hate each other.. I just say i'm Muslim, but I was brought up as Sunni and definitely not brought up to hate Armenians...... you need to research the terms and what they mean before you label good or bad.....if you're basing it on countries then you will misleading yourself. it's got nothing to do with that. Pakistanis have a mixed Sunni and Shiite population......And if you're talking about Iraq then it is mostly shiite... so if you're following your Sunni-Shiite theory you've just contradicted yourself.

Both Shiite and Sunni are victims of this propaganda, the division between them is totally stupid and they really must unite!... One of my good friends from Lebanon, his mother is Shiite and father Sunni.... No big deal.

The 72 virgin thing... Hahahahha, don't you see that's a media's play on words? It's there to make the suicide bombers look like they're dying because they're sex hungry and waiting for this huge 72 virgin reward... where in actual fact they are probably doing it because some American or Israeli force destroyed their family and livelihood.

You guys seriously need to look beyond your immediate countries and definitely look beyond television!... After watching this movie, even as a Christian, being Armenian and having sympathy for what those people are going through, I can now absolutely understand how they would do what they do, and being put in the same situation, I can't say I wouldnt do the same.

If it's THIS hard for me to even have a discussion on a simple internet thread trying to show the peaceful side to Islam and build bridges and learn about a culture..... Then imagine Just HOW stupidly difficult and close to impossible it must be to stand up to the fundamentalists and put up a message of Peace in Islam in the real world.....

Why are you so demeaning? I used to appreciate your posts because I thought they brought a balance to the argument, but why are you so hateful? "the going didn't get tough" in Armenia. It got tough in America over the last couple of years, it got tough in Ireland. In Armenia people had to tear down the forests to have heat and not freeze, they had to kill animals in the zoo to not starve. That's a little more than getting tough.

Furthermore, a majority of Armenians live outside of Armenia, so I think everyone on this board is more than fit to represent Armenians.

Finally, Diaspora Armenians have maintained their identity for centuries before you came around, and they will do so for centuries after you are gone.

Sure we can blame that on the US too but in the end, it was Iraqi soldiers under Iraqi command that invaded Iran ... how many kurds and Iranians were burnt alive with sadam's chemical bombs? Oooh.. i'm definitely not pro Saddam!.... but that doesnt mean i approve of how Bush sautered Iraqis...(roughly 655,000 deaths, possibly more actually) There's a reason why the Arab spring has come about, all these corrupt leaders and their dictatorships are being brought to the test, people are getting sick of being oppressed by them, these dictators are and have been puppets for the west, they dont care about their own people, how could they do so if they've killed so many like this? ....i have no idea what's going to happen with all this.
