How awesome that there's someone else that's seen this movie. Saw it the year it was released, now I wanna re-watch it. It's really good folks!

Yeah I only saw it recently. It really opens your eyes to the lives of the people, it shows that they are actual people, with actual loved ones, families, girlfriends, people with goals and dreams, regular ordinary people who are doubtful and are only driven to this last resort because of generations of humiliation and suffering and no end in sight. The speech Khalid gives in the car to the girl about why diplomacy, peace, and morality are pointless was very moving. It reminds me of something I read about Monte Melkonian in his biography. When his fellow Armenians in Berkeley told him he should go about resistance through peace, so Armenians look peaceful and moral to the world, he said something along the lines of "peace, morality, and justice mean nothing to the world, look what Israel has done, and nobody in the world dares to talk about it. The world only cares about power, money, and self interest. They dont care if you are right or wrong, they care about how much power you have, and how much you can do for them"
Also it does a solid job of remaining somewhat impartial. I have read somewhere that there was protests by some Palestinians for not making the acts of suicide bombers look absolutely heroic. I'll try to get the source for this.

One thing you have got to understand about the US..., they cause the conflict, provide the weapons and watch people butcher each other.

I don't think in most cases US "causes" the conflicts but the US certainly likes to mess with everything Sometimes US pushes conflicts in different directions for its own gain (like pushing Iran towards the Islamic revolution to weaken the communist holds on the country -- that one sort of backfied I think) ... As another example, I don't think the US has caused the shiites and sunnies to hate each other. Also the jew and Arab conflict goes back a long time. It's just that US has become the center because of its pro-Israel stance so it has become the focus of Arab hate. If US didn't protect Israel, Israel would have been wiped out a long time ago with all these Islamic countries in the region hell bent on thaving their precious precious "holy" land (whatever that means).

But 9/11 was a good example of how US operates. Al Qaeda attacks the US. So the US goes and starts a conflict in Iraq and lures Al Qaeda there. Bush almost said it best but I will rephrase: we want them fighting there so we don't have to fight them here. And now US will move out and that conflict will go on and on for generations until some other dictator comes into power and shuts everyone down by force (temporarily).

Why would orthadox J.ews support Arabs and Muslims? because in the real world a lot of them do get on... Just not on TV..

The tension between Sunni and Shiite has always been a weak point which the west such as America has used to cause tension, in order to do the typical "divide and conquer" ... they have been made to hate each other.. I just say i'm Muslim, but I was brought up as Sunni and definitely not brought up to hate Armenians...... you need to research the terms and what they mean before you label good or bad.....if you're basing it on countries then you will misleading yourself. it's got nothing to do with that. Pakistanis have a mixed Sunni and Shiite population......And if you're talking about Iraq then it is mostly shiite... so if you're following your Sunni-Shiite theory you've just contradicted yourself.

Both Shiite and Sunni are victims of this propaganda, the division between them is totally stupid and they really must unite!... One of my good friends from Lebanon, his mother is Shiite and father Sunni.... No big deal.

During the Karabakh War, Azerbaijan was filled with al-Qaeda activity and groups of Mujahadeen and Chechen Islamists were recruited by Azeris to fight against Armenians. Some of those people/leaders are fighting against NATO now in Afghanistan, probably a reason why Armenia has sent a considerable amount of troops there. We shouldn't forget that Azerbaijan also uses the Organisation of Islamic States as an anti-Armenian front. In the UN they are often united against Armenia, support each other including Azerbaijan, and often come out with anti-Armenian resolutions. They were crucial in making Pakistan and Azerbaijan part of security council. Now we have the two most anti-Armenian countries in the world part of this council.
