maybe you guys are right, its just when I was little and I read Armenian books of ancient armenian heroes and they described these heroes as having rich golden curly hair. and long ago i was told by my grandmother that the ancient armenians had these complexions. I myself have dark hair and brown eyes and so does all my family (intermediate and extended) everybody in Yerevan has a similar complexion (except russians and tourists). I also did some research and found out that armenians had the complexion features we find today with ordinary armenians. sorry guys

dont worry man the first armenians had blue eyes and curly blond hair. its now that armenians have changed, just keep your head strong, I know many armenians with your type of complexion

in my personal experience, people usually think i'm white..(extremely pale skin, blonde hair, and i guess my facial features aren't really strongly defined as most), and immediately, the bashing begins. in class or out, my wonderful high school consists of the rabiz talking about me, or the girls behind me cracking jokes about me in armenian. they always get suprised when i reply back in armenian, which is very funny. as an armenian, i'm ashamed to be associated with these kinds of people..the rabiz, who show up to school with only binders. the girls, who spend their money on 400 dollar bags, when their parents can barely afford to put food on their tables.
sure, i don't wear hollister, nor do i drive an S class.
i wear clothes from high end melrose shops, to tank tops you could pick up at target, and i drive a jeep.
i sometimes feel like embracing my heritage is about as fun as dying, since i haven't seen really good examples of what an armenian should be.
so what's the deal with this kind of behavior?

Ignore them and look for Armenians who are less narrow minded.

1. no conspiracies, i assure you..haha..shakey has to do with the name shakeh, it's an injoke.
2. i totally agree with the poster above, if it's so selective, then obviously the ethnicity isn't going to last much longer.
