Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

AKP (the current govt.) is not a party of nationalists, nor is CHP but all parties claim they are.

Tomorrow we will see AKP, CHP and possibly MHP find seats in parliament. Will this make us backward?

I am talking about the grey wolves. They are fighting to get the 10% base to enter the parliament right?
How do they promote a modern Turkey when every time they find excuses to attack the Kurds, the Armenians and even the Ecumenical Patriarhate in Istanbul?
More so,what about the bastard Dean of the University of Istanbul that said last month that Turkey should invade Cyprus and GREECE!!!!!Even if 150.000 Turkish soldiers die in the war with Greece. How does this bullxxxx person you have as a Dean promote a modern European country ha?

PS.That is what i want for our countries.

It covers the entire expulsions from the Aegean to Pontic coast and Anatolian interior. Having only just started it seems to be concentrating in the early pages on Ayvali.
Clark has used a structured mix of official records and face-to-face interviews with survivors of the era.
Unfortunately, whilst the author has obviously well-researched this book, he seems to have no idea of other indigenous races within the ottoman empire.

We all know that there were indeed mass expulsions of the Greek population but bsc i want to be fair,Greece can not substantiate an argument against Turkey for mass planned killing of its population like Armenia is claiming. We are claiming a number of 30.000 people being killed from Turkey in 1922 and Turkey is claiming around the same number of Turks killed by Greeks.
We must understand that during the 1920's the Greek army was indeed a powerful against Turkey plus we had the support of the Great Powers. The expulsions were only natural since we lost the war in 1922 in Izmir. At the times the Turks were fighting their independence war against Greece since we had been occupying the biggest part of Ionia and Minor Asia.

The Greeks on the other hand can not face a defeat easily. When we sensed that we are loosing Izmir we burnt down the city so the Turks will have nothing left when they enter.Venizelos ordered to burn down the whole of the city so the Turks will be devasted when they enter the town.It is called psychological war....The Turks could not touch the Greeks at the time, since most were abandoning Izmir to go to the neighbouring Greek islands but they could touch the Armenian's since the power of Armenia was limited compared to Greek power on the territory,so what we started by putting fire to the whole of Izmir, the Turks finished it by burning down the Armenian suburbs of Izmir....

Besides only Turkey recognizes the pseudo-state Denktas created.
Bloody Hell, Panos! Where did that number come from ?

Try these numbers! From the Turks themselves,
              800 deaths here http://www.kibrisliturksehitler.com/sehitler.htm
              and 500 missing here www.atcanews.org/archive/missing.pdf

And half of these deaths are happening AT THE SAME TIME the invading Turks are on the island "peace operating" 6000+ Greeks.

Panos, we burnt down Turkish property in the Peloponese back in our Independence struggle in the 1820s ? Why did we do that ? Think about it! Do you think the Turks may have burnt down Greek property in Smyrna for a similar reason ?

First of all i cant read Turkish.Second the Turkish Cypriots are claiming 25.000 to 30.000 dead up to 74.There is absolutely no way i am to believe the Greek propaganda that we did not commit attrocities on Cyprus. The Greek side has been the most vicious on the Island.Sorry to say that.We used our majority and the Greeks had it comming.Even though i hate the division to stand on the Island but we have to admit that Turkey's invasion has helped to establish the peace in Cyprus, prooving that the Turkish Cypriots and Greek Cypriots can not live together in peace...mainly due to the Greek Cypriot's aspirations to be united with Greece back in the 60's-70's.

Plus i dont know what Turkey is claiming.I am saying what the pseudo-state is claiming.

                  Check what they are claiming

No.It was us who burnt Smirni,we know that despite of not wanting to admit it.We did out of our megalomania not allow the Turks to have anything in Smirni. The Turks merely finished it by wanting to get rid of the Armenians,so they burnt the Armenian parts of the city. That is how i know history.Tottaly unbiased from my Greek upbringing.I always want to be fair on what i say that is why i always read history from neutral sources.

Panos whats your source on the Greek burning Smyrna?
"All truth passes through three stages:
                      First, it is ridiculed;
Second, it is violently opposed; and
Third, it is accepted as self-evident."
