Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)
1] What you CAN NOT post.
You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene
You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)
The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!
2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.
This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.
3] Keep the focus.
Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.
4] Behave as you would in a public location.
This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.
5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.
Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.
6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.
Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.
7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.
- PLEASE READ -
Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.
8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)
If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Originally posted by TurkishGLooooooooooooL. I dunno you claim that Sevres is Valid. Heres what Vahan M. Kurkjian an Armenian had to say.
"It is a known fact that Khatisian signed the Alexandropol treaty, which can be summarized as follows:
"Turkey recognizes the independence of Armenia; the Armenians yield their rights in the Sèvres Treaty (that is to say the cause of Turkish Armenia); the Akhourian river will be the boundary between the two countries; military service will not be compulsory; the gendarmerie will be responsible for internal security; Turkey will defend Armenia against attack; Sharour and Nakhitchevan will be autonomous territories under Turkish protection," etc.

Meral
As Proffessor Gerard LIbaridian points out very well, if Armenia does not recognize the (so-called)Turkish borders, they(Armenians) should not expect Turkey to recognize it as well.
And In my opinion as Armenia and Diasporan Armenians insist on not to recognize *so-called* eastern Turkish borders, it makes no sense for them agonizing over Turkey's decision to close it. I believe in open borders but Armenians should give Turkey a reason to open up the border.
As I said before certain diasporan groups/leaders do not want to solve problems, they want it as complicated as possible. Border issue is one of them.
YOu have to understand it. Refuse to recognize border + asking implementation of Sevres treaty = I want trouble with Turkey. These are the closed/finalized issues. If not we'll go back to deal with 1915s problems on and on. This land issue brought us to the events of 1915. Armenians and Turks rejected to live in one land. Suprisingly Armenians still insist Eastern Anatolia belongs to them, noone else, just becasue they were living there since 5000 something years. If you insist on exluding others' right, you should have to accept its results.
What we need is the opposite Meral. I understand your frustration and anger, but the realities and interests of both sides are equally important.
The rebel leaders like Antranik or Dro acted selfishly like this, they carried whole Armenian nation into fire. They said Erzurum, Mush Tranzon are for Armenians only, you Turks can go to hell. These were irrispobsible acts first to Armenian nation then to all peoples living in Eastern Anatolia and Caucusia.

what they say is, the Soviet Armenia cannot represent Armenian decision. SO they dont recognize. They recognize the Armenian state declared after the 14th April 1915 rebellion in city of Van. They declared an independent state and declared Van its capital. This state later recognized by western powers and given land to that state in Sevres treaty, later abolished by the same countries. Turks say the representatives of the Sultan did not actually represented Turkish nation. Sultan Vahdettin did not autorize them to sign such an agreement, he wanted them to delay any further invasion. Sultan Vahdettin remained powerless, Damat Ferit's government was the puppet that were eager to remain loyal to occupation.
The odds is the western powers were fighting against Turkish soldiers who were not under the control of IStanbul government(and Istanbul Government had only symbolic force). That signiture had no meaning, the war was going on in the field, the parties who were fighting were still fighting. This treaty was meaningless from the beginning. The Sultan himself supported the underground resistence against the occupation, and asked all groups to remain loyal to Mustafa Kemal's army.
Armenia's situation was different, they were totally controlled by Soviet's there were no seperate Armenian power left. There was no other Armenian force left outside of Soviet Armenia's control.
I think it is time for Armenians to accept the fact that they played with the wrong party, the Russians.

"The Armenian delegation, with M. Khatissian as president, proceeds to Alexandropol in a few days to begin peace negotiations."
I'm not an expert on names but Khatissian sounds a tad bit Armenian to me? Or maybe I'm mistaken.
