Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Why are you so dense? We didn't drag the cats into politics, a pissing contest or anything else. It was the turks who have been renaming everything. Constantinople is now istambul, Mt Ararat is agu dagi or some other stupid name just as a few examples and now they want to change the names of plants and animals to make it seem like it's all "turkish" in origin. They have a severe cae of inferiority complex and they're trying to make up for their deficiency by taking credit for things that they deserve credit for and didn't you know that turkey is the cradle of civilization? Who would have guessed judging by their history.

I read an article where a scientist had listed dozens and dozens of names of flora and fauna that included armeniaca, armenicus, etc. (just Google these words and try to gather all the names!)

They have a hard task ahead of them...
Four things denialist Turks do when they are confronted with facts:

        I. They change the subject (e.g. they copy/paste tons of garbage to divert attention).
II. They project (e.g. they replace "Turk" with "Armenian" and vice versa and they regurgitate Armenian history).
III. They offend (e.g. they cuss, threaten and/or mock).
IV. They shut up and say nothing.

Crmenius lazia, Thorax armeniacus, Lacerta armeniaca, Poecilimonella armeniaca, Gomp hoceros armenicos dimorphus, Ghytodrymadusa armenica, Armenicus drap, Nonea armeniaca, Nnosma armenum, Nnnesma armeniacum, Cvis armeniana, Capreolus capreoulus armenius, Phytodrymadusa armeniaca, Nocarodes armenus, Alburnoides bipunctatus armeniensis, Larus armenicus, Sicista armenica, Crocidura armenica.

To be sure there must be all kinds. They have an impossible task ahead of them. It's no different than trying to change the bible reference to Ararat and Armenia to turkey and agu dagi. Stupid turks!

              Well I insist on Malatya!

BEcasue Malatya has the perfect climate for it, and they export everywhere in the world.

Never eaten from Kagizman, I am not sure I'll ever be able to. Actually I would like to visit our eastern provinces, I've been elzazig and harput further in the east. I really am cirous of seeing KArs Erzurum, Ardahan, Kagizman Agri, and mount Agri

They are exported to other cities in Turkey, but only in small quantities. And, alas, many of the orchards are being abandoned bacause it is not profitable to harvest them and nobody locally wants to pay much for them. The best way to get some is to find someone with relatives in Kagizman.

A Malatya apricot tastes like rubber in comparison.

You are definately a genius. If "present day" Turkey existed since the end of WWI so has "present day" Armenia in the same sense. Your argument is plain stupid. How is Turkey an articially created entity? Did we come down with a meteor storm from Kripton? Or were Turks so pretty, nice and angels that the superpowers of the time just handed Asia Minor out to them because they deeply loved us. Are Armenians descendants of Neanderthal Man that used to live in these lands before H.Sapiens that came from Africa? Post a picture of yourself Parandzem. If you look anything like:

...then you may be the rightful owner of these lands unless you have property rights handed over to you by some Neanderthal.

What I'm trying to say is that the lands people, communities or nations have owned have continuously changed throughout history because of war, genocide, migration, claimtic change, disease, religion etc. Parts of Anatolia may have belonged to Armenians for 5000+ years, it may belong to Turks-Ottomans (whatever) for the last 1000 years and who knows tomorrow it may belong to invading Peruvians. We all just have to live by the fact that borders change and I do not mean this in any manner to degrade or forget the Armenian Genocide.

The article also states the the country of the cat's origin is turkey and that is also false.
It wasn't the Turks who first named them "Turkish Vans", it was ignorant foreigners. And I suspect that the same sort of ignorant foreigners wrote that article.
