What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

Campaign For Erection Of Armenian Terror Monument In New York

    Published: 12/7/2005

NEW YORK - The International Turkish Societies Federation (ITSF) has begun a campaign to erect an ''Armenian Terror Monument'' in New York, the United States to remember 42 Turkish diplomats and their relatives killed by Armenian terrorists.
ITSF officials have invited Turks all over the globe to assist in erecting the ''Armenian Terror Monument''.

An ITSF representative indicated that for years international circles have been put to sleep by Armenian diaspora's lies.

''It is high time to talk about the truths. We are establishing a committee of Turkish architects and historians to build the most original monument which will send a strong message about Armenian terrorist organization ASALA atrocities against Turkish diplomats and relatives,'' noted an ITSF source.

      Armenian Lawsuit In The U.S.

      Published: 12/8/2005

      BY SEMIH IDIZ

MILLIYET- A recent report by Yasemin Congar in Milliyet about a lawsuit filed over the so-called Armenian genocide shows a possible way to end our headaches. Obviously, the policy of categorically denying the Armenian claims has brought no benefit to Ankara. Parliament’s initiative to refute the ‘Blue Book’ is the latest example of this. As for the lawsuit, one student and two history teachers in Massachusetts are arguing that
excluding from history textbooks the Turkish view against the so-called Armenian genocide claims is a violation of academic freedom. Probably the court will agree. Interestingly, the people who filed the suit have no relation to Turkey . In sum, they argue the following: ‘Whether a genocide was committed or not is a separate issue. However, the right of Turks and such scholars as Bernard Lewis and Justin McCarthy to express their views about the issue can’t be taken from them.’ Meanwhile, giving equal time to Turkey’s thesis in history classes is a nightmare for the Armenians as well, because they want everybody to consider the issue from their point of view. Up to now Turkey’s ‘categorical denial’ policy aroused a backlash in the West and helped the Armenians. However, if the suit in Massachusetts is successful, it would set an important precedent.

Actually, there are interesting developments related to the issue in Europe as well. For example, British historian David Irving, a Holocaust denier, has been in prison in Austria since Nov. 11, a situation presenting a sharp dilemma for European academics. Even those who despise Irving for calling the Holocaust a ‘huge lie’ say that what’s being done to him violates academic freedom. The future of the campaign on the issue and what sort of example it will set in Europe is uncertain now. Meanwhile, ‘categorical denial’ advocates won’t like it if the lawsuit in Massachusetts is won. If it’s successful, we could sum up its message as follows: ‘The Armenian claims should be given equal time in Turkish textbooks alongside the Turkish view, just like in US text books.’ Actually this is in line with Turkey’s approach that the issue should be left to historians. However, it’s questionable if Turkey is mature enough to adopt such an approach at this stage.

Yurukel: Allegations Of Armenian Genocide Are Part Of A New Operation Against Turkey

Yurukel: Allegations Of Armenian Genocide Are Part Of A New Operation Against Turkey

VIENNA - ''Allegations of Armenian genocide are part of a new operation of the United States and the other western states against Turkey,'' affirmed Turkish researcher Sefa Yurukel on Thursday.
Speaking at a conference organized by the Austria-Turkey Union of Islam on ''Crimes against Humanity in the History'', Yurukel said, ''such a genocide against Armenians have never taken place in the history. During the Ottoman era, Armenians were relocated due to security reasons. According to a convention signed by the United Nations in 1948, only a planned action can be described as genocide. Armenians were not exposed to such a planned action. Even Armenian sources confessed it saying that they failed to prove that the relocation was a planned action.''

Yurukel claimed that the United States, Russia, the People's Republic of China, Britain and France, the permanent members of the UN Security Council, were the countries which committed genocide.

''Under the UN convention, what Israel is currently doing in Palestine is a genocide. What the United States is doing in Iraq is a genocide. France committed genocide during the war in Algeria. Also, France and Belgium committed genocide in Rwanda and Burundi. But no one can accuse those countries of genocide since they are permanent members of the UN Security Council,'' he said.

Yurukel claimed that the United States and the western countries wanted to make use of Turkey against Iraq, adding, ''therefore, they put pressure on Turkey by using the allegations of Armenian genocide. We cannot resist their attack since we do not know how to prepare reports. There are nearly 7.5 million Turkish people living abroad. We should organize them to create a sound lobby.''

          Lithuania Recognized Armenian Allegations

On December 15, the Lithuanian parliament passed by a majority the resolution on recognition of the Armenian allegations as truth. The resolution condemns the events of 1915 and calls Turkey to recognize the so-called genocide.

Armenia claims that the 1915 Campaign was genocide and Turkey should recognise it. However Turkey has never accepted the allegations. Turkish historians argue that more than 520.000 Turkish were massacred by the armed Armenians and the 1915 Campaign was a relocation campaign, not genocide. The Campaign decision was taken by the Ottoman Empire in 1915. Turkish Governments accept that many Armenians were died due to the war curcumstances, epidemic diseases, hunger and communal clashes.

Up to the present day, the Armenian genocide allegations of 1915 has been recognized by 15 countries including Russia, France and Canada. However none of these countries recognised any declaration or law about any other genocide like the Algerian Genocide committed by French armies.

Cafer Sonmezsoy from USAK (ISRO) told the JTW that "the Armenian issue is a vital subject for Turkey, and the Lithuanians simply ignored Turkey and Turkish opinion on the issue". Sonmezsoy also argued that the decsion will definately affect Turkey-Lithuania relations: "Ignoring Turkey is a mistake. Will Lithuanians take another genocide decision about the 520.000 Turks who were massacred by the Armenians? Or will they condemn Armenia for the occupaion in Azerbaijan? More than 16 per cent of Azerbaijan has been under Armenian occupation and Lithuania took no decision about the Armenian aggressiveness. Moreover the karabakh Genocide has also been ignored by the Lithuanian Parliament".

Labor Party Proves Lie Of So-called Armenian Genocide On Basis Of Armenian Documents

ANKARA - Labor Party (IP) leader Dogu Perincek said, ''with a project we prepare, we will prove with Armenian resources and documents that so-called Armenian genocide is a lie.''
Giving information about their project, Perincek said, ''China, India as well as African and Middle Eastern countries do not recognize so-called Armenian genocide. Imperialist countries take so-called Armenian genocide decisions.''

''After the World War I, first Premier of Armenia Hovhannes Katchaznouni as well as Armenian commanders and historians wrote that they became tool of imperialists in their reports and books. We have initiated the Big Project 2006. We will prepare 7 books within that scope and distribute them abroad. We will prove with Armenian resources and documents to the world that so-called Armenian genocide is a lie.''

Perincek said, ''5 million Turks are living abroad. The victory we won in Switzerland will continue in Germany, France and Belgium as well. We will march in Washington D.C. on April 24th.''

They're planning on making a fool of themselves AGAIN.

We should help them build this monument, and we should publicize our support for it. Then right next to it we should build a monument to the Armenian Genocide.

Weak willed attempt. The first minute an American shouts them down, the ITSF will cower and fear, xxxx their pants, and run back to their propaganda drawing boards. I would bet anything that the construction of this monument will be declared unconstitutional.

Armenians Urge Us Amb. To End Alleged Destruction Of Graves

                  Assa-Irada, Azerbaijan
                  Dec 22 2005

                  Baku, December 21, AssA-Irada
The Armenian National Committee of America has called on US ambassador
Reno Harnish to ensure putting an end to the alleged destruction
of Armenian graves at an old cemetery of the Nakhchivan Autonomous
                  Republic.

In a letter, the Committee urged the ambassador to leave for Nakhchivan
immediately, demand from Azerbaijan, on behalf of the US government
and world community, to honor the UNESCO agreement on the world's
cultural heritage that the country joined in 1993, and put an end to
alleged destruction of Armenian tombstone crosses.

Armenians also called on Harnish to urge Azerbaijan to restore the
graves as much as possible until Armenian and international experts
conduct surveys in the site and prepare a report on the alleged regular
destruction of the world's cultural heritage with the government's
                  support.

Azeri officials dismissed the allegations. Commenting on the matter,
spokesman for the Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry Tahir Taghizada said
the latest appeal is part of Armenians' long-term policy that started
                  4-5 years ago.

"This is absolutely untrue and aims to cover up the destruction of
Azerbaijani cultural and historical monuments by Armenians. They are
trying to mislead the international community," he said.

Azeri Assassin-officer Ramil Safarov Faces Additional Two Years In Prison

Azeri assassin-officer Ramil Safarov is facing additional two years in jail for defying Hungarian law enforcers, report Azeri media.

If the Jan 17 2006 trial proves Safarov´s guilt he will get two years more, says his lawyer.

Meanwhile APA reports Safarov´s mother Nubar Safarova as accusing the lawyer of making much ado about the incident. She says that she has talked with her son by phone and he has told her that nothing awful has happened. He just argued with a warden when he took his phone card away.

The leader of the Azeri nationalist Organization for the Liberation of Karabakh Akif Nagi says that the Azeri authorities must voice an official protest against the new action against Safarov. The Jan 17 trial is part of the plan to exert pressure on Safarov, Nagi says noting that "this may well be the handwork of the Armenians."
To remind, Safarov is facing from 15 years to life in prison for killing Armenian officer Gurgen Margaryan in Budapest Feb 19 2004. /ARMINFO.AM/
