You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)

- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Turkish police detain 30 in explosives cache probe
    Tue Jan 22, 2008 3:02pm GMT Email | Print | Share | Single Page |

ISTANBUL (Reuters) - Turkish police have detained 30 people, including former military personnel and lawyers, in connection with an investigation into a cache of explosives seized last year, Istanbul's governor said on Tuesday.

Eight months ago, police discovered 27 hand grenades, TNT blocks and fuses during an operation in an Istanbul shanty town.

"Within Istanbul and beyond, a total of 30 people are in custody," the state-run Anatolian news agency quoted Governor Muammer Guler as saying.

Turkish media have linked the find to the country's shadowy "deep state", code for hardline nationalists in the security forces prepared to subvert the law for political ends.

CNN Turk said on its Web site a retired brigadier-general and colonel were among those detained on the instructions of a public prosecutor in Istanbul.

It said those detained included well-known nationalist lawyer Kemal Kerincsiz, who came to prominence over his support for free speech-related prosecutions, such as that against Nobel prize-winning novelist Orhan Pamuk.

Kerincsiz was representing a retired army captain, who was one of 13 people previously remanded in custody in connection with the probe.

A second lawyer detained, Fuat Turgut, represents a man accused of inciting the killing of Turkish-Armenian journalist Hrant Dink, who was gunned down outside his office a year ago, the Anatolian news agency said.

Below is an article about Kemal kerincsiz.

I'm glad the Turkish government is going after him. It would not be surprising to find out that he has a big role concerning these explosive.
One can only surmise on the nefarious ways these explosive would be used...but one thing is obvious: These explosive would be used to stoke Turkish nationalism and derail the process of EU membership.

Kemal kerincsiz has a formidable intelligence. At Istanbul's top law school, he graduated with the best grades ever; now he is applying his smarts to a different cause. He is fighting to stop his motherland from joining the European Union. Kerinçsiz's strategy is simple: to try to block the reforms that the E.U. is imposing by rallying Turkish nationalists to his cause. Late last month, by seeking a last-minute injunction, he almost succeeded in shutting down a conference on the mass killings of Armenians in 1915, one of the most brutal episodes in Turkish history, and one which has never been officially acknowledged by a Turkish government. The conference went ahead following the personal intervention of the Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan — and sparked protests widely interpreted in Western media as evidence of Turkey's un-European behavior. But un-European is something Kerinçsiz is proud to be. "History taught us that we cannot trust these Europeans," the lawyer, 42, told Time. "Look at what happened in 1920: they divided up the Ottoman Empire, even though they had pledged not to do that. People call us paranoid, but we're not."

              Connection to Susurluk

Sami Hoştan and 'Drej Ali', who were convicted in connection to the Susurluk incident, are among those who have been taken into custody.

              Küçük connected to every event

Retired general, Veli Küçük, claimed to be one of the founders of the Ergenekon organization, has been taken into custody.

The Istanbul police department has carried out an operation entitled Ergenekon in which retired general Veli Küçük was taken into custody. Küçük has been on the agenda since his name was mentioned, as a prominent figure in the focus of the uncovered deep connections, in the Susurluk File Investigation Committee at the national assembly. The operation will go down in history as the first operation where Küçük has been taken into custody since then. Küçük has appeared on the agenda as the commander and brother of those figures identified with such concepts as gangs and guerilla terrorists. Küçük's connections to the actors of the state-within-a-state, Abdullah Çatlı, Mahmut Yıldırım and Sedat Peker have been proven. It is stated that Sami Hoştan and Drej Ali (Ali Yasak) have known Veli Küçük since the early 1990s. According to the information obtained, Küçük was introduced to Yasak and Hoştan by Abdullah Çatlı, who died in the accident in Susurluk.

                Thanks Gavur.

This is going to get interesting and I applaud the Turkish authorities if they are genuinely going after the fascists. All that being said, I hope it is a sincere effort and not one for the sole purpose of shutting up the anti-EU crowd on behalf the Erdogan's party.

It's just twists and turns in the fog.

Thugs, when they get too thuggish, are generally disposed of by their employers - rather like dogs who get too fond of barking and biting are disposed of by their owners. These arrested dogs were barking and biting too much on their own initiatives - so now they have to be put down.

Same thing happened to last summer, to that what's-his-name Turkish "historian" who wrote that most Alevi Turks and Kurds were actually originally ethnic Armenians. Prior to that, he had barked only at the behest of the Turkish state. But now he had deluded himself into thinking he was a proper historian, and was barking in public on his own initiative - and barking a story that his employers considered to be off-message: so he had to be whipped and sent back to his kennel, tail between his legs.
