I saw Hotel Rwanda last night. It was a very sad movie, I cried throughout the entire film. The worst part is that you leave the movie theater knowing that this is a true story. That this man actually risked his life and his family to save others. And that the Hutu rebels killed innocent people, as well as children, just because they had a different label (Tutsi) on their ID. And the worst part of the entire movie was when the UN and other western powers knew exactly what was going on yet they did nothing about it, absolutely nothing. Just like their doing nothing about the genocide in Sudan, and now I've recently heard that the Hutu rebels are in Congo and are rapeing the women.
Everyone should see this movie, even if you dont like sad movies, people need to see the truth. People need to be aware.

"Hide and Seek" -- I was disappointed. Overall reaction: Meh, whatever. Maybe the best part of the movie was the preview for The Ring Two (seems like it's going to be very very scary + good ) which comes out in March.

I was not pleased with The Ring, since it was a rip off of another similar movie, Fear Dot Com, which itself is based on some Asian movie. In all, it sucked.

I rented The Village over the weekend...

I loved it...the whole concept of the movie was great and distrubing at the same time...Rent it, you'll get one helleva surprise in the end.

I heard of Fear Dot Com only once and never again and never saw it. The ring is based a lot on the Japanese movie Ringu.

I didn't think it sucked. It scared me and was entertaining as I am sure the next one will be also. You are too picky maybe.

I also liked 28 Days Later a lot. Good scary movie. I saw it in the theatre and now I have to rent it too because I want to see the alternate ending on the DVD.

Ever since I saw "The Grudge", I can't seem to get myself up to go see another scary movie. I can't even watch the commercials on TV of that movie. OMG! I wanted to see "Saw"...but of course, I chickened out. I also wanted to see "The Village", and yes...cluck cluck. How can I get over this? I used to LOVE watching horror/suspense movies. Now, I'm stuck with:


I did see "In Good Company" yesterday. It was really cute and sweet. I think it's a chick flick, but it did have some hilarious scenes. Anywho, for those of you who like chick flicks, I give it a 7 out of 10. Not bad.

Saw wasn't scary, it was more of a psychological thriller sort of thing and it was good, but it had too many plot holes and could have been done better. For the guys' first time out as a screenwriter, it wasn't bad at all. The Village wasn't scary either. It was interesting, but not scary.

Movie Review thread

Didn't see a movie review thread - saw an awesome movie last night...still digesting it...thought I'd post a review..

With kids away my wife and I can watch some more adult (risque perhaps...) flicks...So -

Mulholland Drive by David Lynch -
Awesome flick - 10/10 easy. To say overly much would likely give the story away...though my wife and I disagreed about what the story was all about - not easy to decipher on first view (we watched it partially a second time even). My favorite film of his I think....the Rita?Camillia character was awesome (looking) IMO...and the Betty/Diane character was both cute and a great actress. I loved the scenes with the director - both meeting with his agent and the Italian guys and after - his rampage and then at home...etc
Anyway - though soem scenes were perhaps a bit disjointed and one wonders what context..(athoguh again only 1 viewing - film warrents more) - and I understand that this was to be a pilot for a TV series (much like twin peaks - which I have all on tape BTW! - big fan of Blue Velvet too - I'll have to tell my Blue Velvet story - of particular interest to any Red Hot Chilli Peppers fan...) - shame it didn't happen - would have been an awesome series....

Even though I put the link - I would recommend seeing the film first - and getting really blown away....

I saw "Be Cool".

When I was working on it, I thought it was going to be bigger than what it was in the promos. I was expecting just a little more.

I mean, it was nicely written, but not a big deal.
