Originally posted by Seapahn I somehow never manage to muster up any respect for a kid driving a fancy car that mommy and daddy gave him the keys to.
To me, the type of car says a lot about a person and fancy doesn't necessarily speak too highly of the owner to me. Unless I know the person was able to afford it by themselves or at least worked hard to get it.
Yes, but I doubt that most people think like you do. Although I agree with you, there are exceptions. I don't know if you saw, but in another car thread, I posted a picture of a blue Ford Taurus station wagon, and I wasn't kidding when I said that I used to drive that. Now I hated that car with a passion, wanted to smash it into the wall every chance I got, but didn't since it was my only ride. NOW do you get my point?

I got your point in your original post
Having had that POS taurus, I'm sure you will appreciate everything else much much more! With a kid that starts off with an M3 beamer right when he hits 16 ... I don't know how much he is going to appreciate anything else later down the road in life.
I love my old, neglected Saab and it very much fits me. I just wish I had an antenna, a fully functioning head unit, and more than just two dash cones. Poopies.
