Armenians helped bring Hezbollah to power. They were the swing vote. Mission accomplished.

So what? So a non-Armenian from let's say Moscow or South California is also instantly pro-Armenian?

Why though? I thought Armenians took official neutrality in the Civil War, even though pressured by both sides.

Hezbollah gave Armenians more representatives in government as they are a seen as a large minority. The western backed government was kicking Armenians to the curb.

He was mainly joking. But yes, Hizballah is pro-Armenian within Lebanon.

They were during the Civil War and will always be when any war arises in Lebanon. But politically, they are allied with not only Hizballah but also Christian leader Michel Aoun. As for why, see Kanada's post above.

Well I know the Lebanese Christians didn't even view the Armenians as "real" Christians - plus they were Fascist bastards that terrorised Armenians from my knowledge for not supporting them. Unfortunate that we got mixed up in that bloody conflict, just our luck.

Well, there are Lebanese Arab Christians and the Maronites... someone can correct me, but I believe it was the Maronites that were terrorizing Armenians.

Well, the majority of Arab Christians in Lebanon are Maronites. It was mostly a couple of Maronite political parties responsible for bombing and terrorising the Armenian quarters during the Civil War - the Kataeb party (aka Phalange) and a militia called the Lebanese Forces (later political party). The latter has nothing to do with the army (LAF - Lebanese Armed Forces).

We never claim to be like "those Christians" because really, we have our own outlook on the world.

I didn't think the Maronites considered themselves Arabs. Or were they Arabized?

Maronite Christian Nationalists do not consider themselves Arabs, they claim they are the descendent of Phoenicians and claim relations with Assyrians from what I understand. But even if let's say their theory is true, they are as Arabised as the Berbers are.

Maronites are leftover Christian Assyrians and Rooms (Greeks) from surrounding areas, there’re even some Armenians mixed to them, they claim they are Phoenicians just like turks claim they are “Anatolians” but in reality they have nothing to do with being Phoenicians. This Maronite thing started after an Assyrian monk by the name “Maroun” or “Marouan” was kicked out from a monastery in Syria ( I suspect maybe he was a freemason or something ) came to Lebanon and started this whole thing.
