The recent Israeli attack on "aid ships" from Turkey generated international condemnation and protest, as if all protests were prepared prior to the ships' approach to Israeli waters.

Turkish officials hurried to call the event a "bloody massacre" (which quite frankly is a blatant exaggeration) when only 4 Turkish lives were lost among 9 deaths. However, many hurried to remind its readers of the Armenian genocide :

Should we accept the use of this argument against Turkey? Armenia seems to have no problem with the Israeli actions as I have seen no official reaction.

This was a Turkish trap designed by Erdogan that Israel fell for......no real peace activists on that Turkish flaged ship. What a PR disaster for Israel.

Turkey set a trap knowing very well that Israelis would loose either way they respond.

1) Don’t do anything, ignore your own blockade, and allow the crafts to Gaza…which will set a precedents for future aid (possibly hidden weapons) and open a route directly to Hamas who has declared War on Israel.

2) Board the ship and enforce the Israeli blockade on Gaza (international waters or economic borders or not)….currently according to UN Israel only allows ¼ of required aid to reach Gaza due to their ongoing blockade.

One thing Israelis weren’t counting on was the Aid workers attacking Commandoes with sticks, chairs and pushing them over the railing (there is a clear video) which might have set off the order to open fire. Erdogan knew very well that the Israelis would start shooting if provoked at the people he send to their deaths.

This was very stupid mistake by Israel and a major PR blunder for them and if true, a hell of a chess move by Erdogan.

There would not be any problems if as you say the zionists just wanted a small place of their own. The problem is that zionism is racist ideology which leads to "i am better then you so i am gona take whatever i want and you cant do anything about it". Isreal had many opportunities to get the small place of their own and live in peace but they killed every opportunity even if it meant killing theeir own president. Even today the entire arab world including the palastinians agree to leting isreal live on its small land with the pre 1960 borders but as you or anyone else alive knows Isreal does not want this and is doing everything possible to take over all of palastine and it even invades its neighbors. The time to feel sorry for the tormented xxxs is over for they are the tormenters now.

For starters, they should stop killing entire populations and funding Genocides. Stop terrorizing the world and then blaming it on others. Stop being cowards and own up to their crimes. Since this isn't going to happen, the only way to make it a level playing field is to teach all this history to kids but then they call that "religion".

PanARMENIAN.Net - Political analyst Levon Shirinyan said that Armenia should follow closely the behavior of its strategic partner – Russia – with respect to the Turkish-Israeli confrontation.

Though the Armenian-Russian strategic relations seemed to be ideal previously, it was Russia, which saved Turkey from the collapse in 20-s of the last century, Shirinyan told a press conference in Yerevan. “It suggests that we should be careful,” he said.

At the same time, the Armenian expert noted that not only the Russian-Turkish approximation may become a problem for Armenia - Azerbaijan may also oppose to Israel and xxxish capital and take steps aimed at approximation with Russia.

“This does not mean that we are in a deadlock, to the contrary, the role of the Armenian factor is increasing in this global strategic game,” Shirinyan noted.

The Armenian expert also believes that a progress may be recorded in the Armenian Genocide recognition soon. According to him, the xxxish lobby of the US may change its stance towards this issue and even contribute to it, depending on the dynamics of the Turkish-Israeli relations.

The Armenian expert noted that Armenia should try to establish ties with the xxxish lobby in the US to start cooperating with it.

According to Shirinyan, Armenia should mobilize its resources, specifically, the Armenian Council of National Security should increase its role and conduct a thorough analytical research to reveal scenarios of possible developments.

Shirinyan also emphasized the necessity of changing the attitude towards the Diaspora. “There is need in resuming the activity of the Armenian World Congress, which used to operate in New-York once,” the expert said.

PanARMENIAN.Net - About 1,000 people demonstrated June 3 evening outside Turkey's embassy in Tel Aviv, expressing their anger over Ankara's conduct in the wake of the raid on a Gaza-bound flotilla, YNet reported.

Some protestors hurled stones and a smoke grenade at the embassy. Three people were arrested by police at the scene, as mounted officers and riot police attempted to keep the demonstrators at bay.

Many of those present outside the Yarkon Street consulate held up Israeli flags and signs condemning the Turkish government. "Erdogan is a terrorist," some chanted, referring to Turkey's leader, while others chanted "Let the IDF win" and "Zoabi, go to Gaza," referring to the Arab-Israeli Knesset member who was aboard the raided ship.

At one point in the rally, a female protestor attempted to raise the Israeli flag on the embassy's fence but was pushed back by police officers.

Some protestors carried signs charging that Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan is a fascist. Other participants held up Armenian flags, expressing their sympathy over the Armenian Genocide perpetrated by the Turks early in the 20th century.
