Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

None, keep the lineup of men; that would be a futile exercise. "The plural of anecdote is not data." That's science/research 101, son.

Statistics isn't science, you can't prove or disprove any of it without access to factual data which isn't available to everyone. Although you'll find how unbalanced the system is and the cards are stacked up against men since they earn the most money and lawyers and government migrate towards money and don't care about fairness.

Joint custody on the rise in divorce settlements, Statistics Canada finds
Marriages most likely to fall apart after four years

Divorcing parents settle disputes over their children with shared custody arrangements more than a third of the time now, capping a rise from single digits when the Divorce Act came into force in 1986, Statistics Canada said yesterday.

National divorce figures from 2000, released yesterday, show that 37.2% of custody battles are settled with joint custody, 53.5% with custody awarded to the mother, and 9.1% with custody going to the father.

The figures are based on an analysis of 71,144 divorces in 2000.

        Re: Equality for Women

Talking about women equality - this is an impressive statistic for us:

60% of leading positions held by women in Armenia

        March 08, 2011 | 19:29
At present, women hold only 20% of leading positions in companies worldwide. Only 8% of women hold the posts of president or general manager, ITAR-TASS reports, referring to a survey conducted by the Grant Thornton company in 39 countries.

Among the leaders are Georgia (40%), Russia (36%) and Philippines (35%).

In 2009, 60% of leading positions were held by women in Armenia.

Those numbers are bs. That's even higher than Sweden, where the law forces women into management position over men. If that number were true, then Armenia would be on the verge of destruction, but the real figure would be less than 10%.

why would they come up with a BS statistic?

                Re: Equality for Women

The news reporting, as always is B.S. I'm guessing (feel free to confirm with facts) they surveyed a certain amount of people and asked whether or not they felt women held top positions and 60% replied yes. The news articles twisted it around to make it appear as though 60% of top positions were held by women.

The women accusing Walmart of sex discrimination

If it goes ahead, it will be the largest sex discrimination lawsuit in American history. The US Supreme Court will soon decide whether to allow a class action on behalf of more than a million women - against the world's largest retailer, Walmart.

                http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-12601177
Why some women are ruining it for the rest. When someone who has less seniority than me gets a promotion, what are my rights as a man? Oh yeah, I have none. When life is a b!tch, I just smack it around and move on.

Should male waiters start suing the general public for not getting as much tips as waitresses? Class action lawsuit. Waiters vs. the Public for sex discrimination

They will use this change to charge everyone more than they currently do.

The European Court of Justice's decision to ban gender pricing on insurance- related products prompted a lot of cheap headlines this week, but will it really impact on us all in terms of higher insurance costs and lower annuity rates? Certainly it seems that some insurers see the move as a chance to boost profits.

Announcing his firm's results on Wednesday – the day after the EU ruling – Henry Engelhardt, chief executive of the Admiral Group, admitted: "As an insurer I'm pleased. We will raise rates for young women: we won't bring them down much for young men. That means more profit."

Other insurers have been more circumspect about the impact. Specialist women's insurer Sheila's Wheels said: "The ruling will affect millions of women across the EU from 21 December 2012, causing premiums to rise artificially in a way that no longer truly reflects women's risk as drivers or the cost of their claims."

Meanwhile Adrian Brown boss of More Than – owned by RSA – said: "The judgment flies in the face of common sense. It is completely disadvantageous to the very people it was intended to protect and prevents insurers from using a legitimate rating factor. Once again consumers are going to have to pay the price for an illogical change in the law."
