Well I think that's obvious but I wouldn't say the Israeli's are particularly happy about it, let's put it bluntly. They preferred Bush.

The Israelis have officially committed themselves to the US's diplomatic efforts with Iran and their is no rift between the US and Israel. The reason why the Obama administration needs to resurrect “the two states solution” (a mirage) is to distance the US from Israel's expansionism in the West Bank.

OMG people Iran is not Iraq,war with them will secure nice chunk of US loses,Iran has officially more than a million of troops,can US face them face 2 face with out numerical advantages?
What US will and can do is to coordinate all side attack,they will need to surprise them and hope in few time secure strategic location in a well fortificated area,then what??
I can't see eny opportunity of US victory war will last long as the matter will solve with diplomatic ways,and just think what Russia or Europe or all the east will have to say to the aggressor this time what they will say Nukes Terrorism?
The man that will do the first step will be damed by all of humanity as the power of this size will take others with them.

The US can't afford to take on Iran in a military conflict at the moment.... Afghanistan and Iraq aren't exactly developing according to plan. However, neither Israel nor the US can sit back and allow Iran to grow stronger. Ahmadinejad has won the elections in a landslide, the country will continue on its course to defy America and Israel.

Lieberman: 'No Israeli plan' to bomb Iran



Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman has said his country is not planning unilateral military action to disable Iran's nuclear programme.

Speaking on a visit to Moscow, he said it was not Israel's job to deal with Iran alone, which he described as "a threat to the entire world order".

Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu says Iran cannot be allowed to have nuclear arms and refuses to rule out use of force.

Iran denies it seeks nuclear arms and says its programme is totally peaceful.

Israel, which is widely believed to be the Middle East's only nuclear-armed state, has repeatedly described Iran's uranium enrichment programme as a threat to its existence.

Israeli officials frequently say all options are on the table to stop Iran from using it to build atomic weapons.

Speaking in Russian, Mr Lieberman said: "I have been asked by Saudi journalists about when Israel plans to bomb Iran. We are not planning to bomb Iran."

"We do not have a need... Israel is a strong country and we can defend ourselves."

The right-winger, who grew up in the Soviet Union, has a reputation for outspoken rhetoric: it is not clear how his words square with other policy statements on Iran by Israeli government officials.

Israel's main ally, the US, plans to engage Tehran in direct talks in an effort to end the nuclear standoff.

In an interview with the BBC broadcast on Tuesday, Mr Obama said he wanted to see serious engagement from Iran on the nuclear issue by the end of 2009.
