Pardon me for my failed play on words...I just don't know what agnosticism really is.
It means that they are undecided on the god issue. They don't want to give their earthly possesions away and harras people by giving out bibles but at the same time they are keeping their options open just in case they have some explaining to do after death. They're basicly wussies.
Here's the dictionary defintiion:
ag·nos·tic (²g-n¼s“t¹k) n. 1. One who believes that there can be no proof of the existence of God but does not deny the possibility that God exists.

lol, what kind of lame philosophy is that then? MAKE UP YOUR MIND ALREADY!!
Do we really need proof anyways? If people were to follow what most religions say only after the existence of God has been proven, wouldn't it just show that they are indeed selfish people?
It is not a philosophy about being "undecided" on the issue. That is wrong. Agnosticism says that you can not know whether a god exists or does not and that it does not matter since they believe in empirical evidence as opposed to absolute truths.

I didn't necessarily have someone in particular in mind!
when it comes to agnosticism...
I think it's too philosophical.
God isn't a proof issue.
God is a belief. it's in people's minds.
you can't just sit there and say "there can be no proof whether or not God exists".
I know I'm not the first person who's saying this, but logical reasoning and belief never meet.
Renee Deckartese proved that there is a GOD.
I think it is very smart way the way that he proved: he said humans have the idea of perfection, but none of the human beings is perfect, that means a perfect existence must have put this idea of perfection---------------->GOD
there you go, GOD exists. PERIOD
I agree. It is clever. But I do not agree. It would be correct if one excepted the initial premise it is based on. Unfortunately I have not read Rene Descartes' s Meditations in 7 years and I can not provide any further support, off the top of my head. I can say, though, that it has to do with a yin yang concept: our ability to recognize imperfection could be viewed as independant of God and therefore we would have no choice but to recognize perfection.

And that could lead us into the whole argument about who decides what is perfection. One persons trash is another persons treasure, and the like. What is perfection and what is imperfection? In much the same way we can ask what is Beauty? Who decides these things? As a socitey we tend to conform to the definitions/guidelines about beauty, etc. That all just begs the question about where these guidelines come from. Put simply... Says WHO?
