  • Jesus Used Cannabis

    According to this article.

Jesus was almost certainly a cannabis user and an early proponent of the medicinal properties of the drug, according to a study of scriptural texts published this month. The study suggests that Jesus and his disciples used the drug to carry out miraculous healings.

This ties in with my theory that Jesus was a hippie. Long hair. Sandles. Beard. That sucks. BUT, he did use cannabis which makes him my favorite savior.

I'm not even convinced that he existed and people are already determining things about this life...strange to me.

Even he wasn't real, humanity needs him anyway. The foundation for our laws today and our ideas about justice are based on his teachings.
if jesus existed, he was just an ordinary men who created his own philosophy. ergo, those laws that are extracted from the judeo-christian tradition (about which you're talking about) were just another man's philosophy (you cannot assume that jesus was god's son when you haven't proven that god exists).. therefore, the laws are NOT based on religion, but on a philosophy - which is why we don't need jesus as a religious figure..

society and civilization existed long before the so-called jesus was supposedly born... moreover, if there is one thing that is the basis for all laws, it's the Code of Hammurabi (c. 1780 BC)

The Code of Hammurabi is non sense compared to the teachings of Jesus. Here's law number 1:

If any one ensnare another, putting a ban upon him, but he can not prove it, then he that ensnared him shall
                be put to death.

                Wait here's another winner:
If any one take a male or female slave of the court, or a male or female slave of a freed man, outside the
city gates, he shall be put to death.

Yeah that's real innovative. Jesus's teaching were against violence and slavery. And you're right it is a philosophy. Jesus himself did not invent Christianity. It was something put together by his followers years after his death. I do not believe in god but Jesus' teaching set a standard to strive for, while your code of hamurabi does nothing of the sort.

Jesus lived his life in a cheap hotel on the edge of Route 66.
