Ok, this might come as a shock to you (since you're an exception - premed) but the majority of athletes go to college, not for their degree. They just deal with the academics part of school so they can be allowed to play. This leads them to pick a major that's not very difficult. Let me know if I lost you...

you're actually benefiting from athletics.....u know how much money a college makes thru its athletic teams......more than u could imagine......Athletics is giving a life to the school, through spirit, teamwork, and dedication of its athletes.....I dont think any regular student could go through what an athlete does......

I dont think anything is wrong with that??? a school would be sooo boring if it loses its athletic spirit....so why not having some "not nerdy" ppl bringing life to a "nerdy" college!!!

I don't think an athlete could go through what a regular student does. oooooooo, you're playing tennis! How harsh is that! And as if it that wasn't enough, you have to traaaain toooo. People actually PAY to go to the gym to train.

Comparing that to a student who works hard on school, to actually get a good grade without the teacher being nice, who has a job to PAY for that school, AND is involved in the community...athletes are reaaaally not doing anything special.

what ru saying? athletes go through what regular students go through plus what athletes go through....2 in 1.....hahaha....trust me the training part is not as easy as getting trained in a gym....if its that easy for u .... why dont u go try out for some sport, and see if u could through one practice session of any sport.....specially track and field......where Ive cried during training at times.

well that's only their fault.....its not that they don't have time to go to the gym....they're just too lazy trust me....I know this from some of roommates......they dont do nothing..they just sit there and eat and they have a gym membership.....bunch of sedentary ppl....

A damn proud one.

Of course the primary objective of a university is academics. A school needs to raise money and good athletic teams is a good way to do it. USC made something like 12-14 million dollars from their football team this season. There isn't any group of 90 students (approx. size of the football team) that will contribute that much money to the school while they're in school and that's why I think it's fine for them to get an easier pass on some xxxx.

Edit: They made the 12-14 from just the Rose Bowl. I'm sure they made some more from the regular season and all the gear people bought based on their successful season.
