No... what I meant was, you can't believe in a book. It's there for information. I don't believe in my car manual, it can't diagnose and fix my car. That is left up to me. However, it can give me information about how to diagnose and fix my car. If I'm smart enough to figure it out without the book, then it stays on the shelf.

So your answer to the question in the the OP of "how much of the bible must be historically accurate for you to believe in it?" is "none." You could have just answered the question and left it at that.Originally posted by KanadaHye View PostI know eh. What does the bible have to do with belief.

I didn't think I'd need evidence since it's common knowledge...Originally posted by Siggie View PostBlah blah blah... Stop diverting. You make a claim, I ask for evidence, you ignore it and make another claim. No. Show me where Jesus expressed disagreement with something in the OT.
Jesus faced a mob that was eager to execute a woman caught in adultery. He put a stop to it with a simple challenge: anyone who has no sin in their life should step forward and throw the first stone. That sentence is often cited as a reminder to avoid judging others when there are faults in your own life that need to be addressed.
"So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her."

After all, he was put to death for educating people in everything from personal behavior, to law and even politics.
Every wonder why your pathetic country can't seem to let you forget about 9-11?

I don't recall where in the New Testament (NT) it says that Jesus disagreed with what the Old Testament god said and did.
I'll wait for you to give me that passage where it says that... I humored you and gave you quotes when you asked me to substantiate what I was saying. Let's see yours then; where's the evidence that the NT message disagrees with that of the OT.
I'll even settle for where it revisits the issue of homosexuals, nonbelievers, or other "sinners" and concludes something that doesn't agree with what's expressed previously in the Old Testament.

As for the quote from Romans, Paul is referring to how the people of Rome have become the scum of the Earth with extremely poor morals and that those people are worthy of death (in other words, there would be no tears shed if they died)

They remember love and peace yet forget kill kill kill... Everything good is caused by god everything bad by devil and men... this gets really boring and redundent after a while. If a fool wishes to remain a fool then that is his/her business but unfortunetely his/her decision on this matter effects the rest of us to.
