Re: Armenian lesbians/gays
I don't understand where the question of emasculation came into play here. No one is asking anyone to give up their balls, and that's pretty much the sole thing that defines what a man is. That is IT. Any other definition is arbitrary.

I understand many of you are anti-west. But one of the most disturbing things about the west that I see very clearly being demonstrated here is this sheer anti-intellectualism that is so rampant in the media and the culture. Someone makes the mistake of mentioning she, God forbid, has some sort of post-secondary degree and some of you blow a gasket trying to instantly dig a hole and dump her in it.
It is the same with Global Warming, evolution, social sciences, medical sciences, nutrition, etc ... it is as if it is entirely irrelevant whether one is talking to an educated expert or the dumb-ass curator of the "Creation Museum".
At least the traditional Armenians tend to value education and the educated. That is one of the aspects of our culture I hope we never lose.
This is just sad

It is not because people in NA cannot handle all the money that they earn and they are top earners of the world when not including countries like Monaco and Luxembourg.

When we look at Armenia during the Soviet days we can see that two income families was the norm and only now the idea of woman should stay home is coming up, I don't think many people could imagine something like this in the SU because there the state said that you had to work.
So again I'm wondering where does the idea that single income family is the norm in the world because for most of our modern history it hasn't been the norm, especially during WWI and WWII.Last edited by KarotheGreat; 06-05-2012, 02:43 PM.

That actually dates back to the early industrial revolution or even before the urbanization of the Western Nations. So the one income family has been for such a short period of time in our modern history but for some reason it is still sticking around.

THAT is the real problem (that's why I call it slavery). I have no problem otherwise if a woman and a man willingly enter into such an agreement.
