Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

I must repeat that it is my last english classtest on monday, than I would not have this subject any longer.I must write a good mark on monday to pass my A-level.I have written a short comment on my own and I would to ask you if you can correct it?

In my following explanations I would like to comment on the problem of child labor.
To my mind child labor is a very horrible thing that must be stopped immediately before more and more innocent children`s lives are ruined.
There are three points I would like to make in this topic.
First of all I think that it is absolutely irresponsible to force under age children to work in such un-healthy environments like brick kilns or stone quarries where they can get all kinds of physically and psycologically damage. While working in these jobs they can come in contact with unsafe chemicals or tools that are not meant to be used by such young people. Also children often work barefoot, unprotected from the sun and the cold in winter.Common illnesses include tuberculosis, infections or silicosis are the result. They also suffer from injuries to their eyes or fingers.
Second of all I think that the delicate bodies of the children are not suitable for the hard physical and mental strain and children who are abused in this way are often traumatized.
Finally I would like to say that children should enjoy der life, have fun like most of the other kids in the world because you must regard that you are only a kid once.In addition to that it is more important for these children to go to school instead of working all day.We must not forget that children are our future. If they can neither read nor write they become less aware of the world around them and it would result in a high illiterate rate. This would impede the progress and the efficiency in all the different economy areas for example agriculture, industry and service industry.
Taking all these facts in consideration now I think that it is time to do something against this cruelty in the outside world.Children in such areas are so less educated that they do not know their rights and privileges.
The best solution would be education.I personally would plead for more schools which are for free, so that parents do not have to pay school fees and give all their children a proper education.
Children in germany for example often say "I hate school, I do not want to go to school!" It seems to me that they do not know how good they have it.Children in India for example would give everything to go to school and actually have a positive future.
I would like to finish now by saying that we must bring these problem to public notice and request all people not to buy products that are produced by children.
We must try everything to give these people a possibility to break out the circle of poverty. If the problem with poverty is solved the problem with child labor would automatically solved, too.

Did you have any ideas what I could add I think it is a little bit short. And what do you think could I write if we must write something about exploitation of people in general and not about child labor?

First of all I think that it is absolutely irresponsible to force under age children to work in such un-healthy environments like brick kilns or stone quarries where they can get all kinds of physically and psychologically (physical and psychological) damage. While working in these jobs they can come in contact with unsafe chemicals or tools that are not meant to be used by such young people. Also children often work barefoot, unprotected from the sun and the cold in winter. Common illnesses include tuberculosis, infections or silicosis are (is) the result. They also suffer from injuries to their eyes or fingers.
Second of all I think that the delicate bodies of the children are not suitable for the hard physical and mental strain and children who are abused in this way are often traumatized.
Finally I would like to say that children should enjoy der (their) life, have fun like most of the other kids in the world because you must regard that you are only a kid once.In addition to that it is more important for these children to go to school instead of working all day. We must not forget that children are our future. If they can neither read nor write they become less aware of the world around them and it would result in a high illiterate rate. This would impede the progress and the efficiency in all the different economy (economic)areas for example agriculture, industry and service industry.
Taking all these facts in consideration now I think that it is time to do something against this cruelty in the outside world. Children in such areas are so less educated that they do not know their rights and privileges.
The best solution would be education. I personally would plead for more schools which are for free, so that parents do not have to pay school fees and give all their children a proper education.

There are several inconsistencies I would like to correct, that are often made by the economically profane.

To your first point. They are no forced to work. Although this is a common charge by anti-free market critics, socialists or Marxists, there is nothing about this that is "coercive". No one is forced to work. They get paid wages by providing labor. And back to my original, who are you or anyone else to decide what is in the interest of these people? Children working is a family matter, if their family decides it is okay it is up to them, not you or the State to force them to do what you or the State wants. That would be coercion. Furthermore, you are not taking account of the economic and historical situation in many of these countries to understand why child labor exists and why it is important for them to work.

To your second point. Although I admire such humanitarian efforts on your behalf of trying to help the downtrodden masses, I find this statement lacking base. The topic was working in sweatshops and what sort of body does one need to survive in such? Last I know, you don't need to be a Man of Steel to work in a sweatshop, and the name pretty much says it all.

To your third statement, this is further opinion just like your second statement. This does not reflect anything relating to economic or historical links or reasons for anything. What you believe these children should be enjoying is not what obviously their families believe, because it was their families that put them to work, because they sorely need the money in an undeveloped economy that is in its pre Industrial stages. I have already explained that these children in these countries cannot afford to go to work or school due to the economic condition of that country.

Babylou I think personally you would skip with the opinions offered and focus on the more cogent points of economic and historical links that would support your argument. Perhaps you should take a look at my posts in this thread.

Then why is human-rights organizations saying the companies doesn't fallow international laws on child-labour !? Anynmous jan, every child should have a change to go to school , and not ruin their life because some rich fat old man who is that greedy that he wants to make 100 % profit out of people and children who need some money to get bread for the day so they are forced to work. How can you say that they choose to work there? When there are no other alternatives. The hell with the companies, if it was me or you who would work in such a factory in europe or usa, we would get much higher pay, and it wouldnt be allowed to work in such unhealthy enviroments as these people are working in.

Anon, I don't think she needs to write a research paper on this topic, its for her English class ...I think the teacher just wants to see that she is able to write in English in correct English grammer and spelling...the topic of sweatshops probably wouldnt weigh in as heavily on her grade as making sure her English is okay.
