Please do tell how bad AMD Athlon XP 2800+ is. I am dying to know. Don't forget to mention a lower price in comparison to P4.

I had (gave it to my sister) a Dell Inspiron..it works fine..havent had any problems with it except the sound isnt working anymore but I called them and they say they'll fix it or replace it, I just have to get around to sending the laptop to them.

I hear IBM is pretty good too, a lot of my friends in school have them and they say it works fine...no real problems that cant be fixed by a good ol' warranty..I know thats the one I'm getting once school starts

Don't know about the 2800+ .... mine is only a 3200+ running rock solid with a matching pair of Corsair XMS 512MB (CAS 2) sticks.

I dont need to tell you how bad it is compared to a P4 over time...it's not a bad alternative, but over time...yeah

I have an AMD Athlon on my PC. It was cheaper than Pentium and has been working for 3 years with no issues.
