  • Do you have high speed internet?

I am still on dial-up, but I plan to get Verizon DSL within a month, hopefully. Comcast also offers cable internet in my area, but it's about $20 more than Verizon. I also get a free modem and wireless router from Verizon, so I can hook up my other computer also.

So, do any of you have Verizon DSL? Do you like it?

Yes I have SBC DSL. Sadly I have to disconnect it this next weekend because I am moving and it will be about a week or two before I get back online.

I have cable through charter (i think) and I'm very happy with it. $35/month 3mb/sec but alot of times its faster. I have two computers and my laptop networked @home and I don't experiance any lag.

Yea, SBC is pretty good and has been good to me for the 3 or 4 years I've had it. No lag at all. It used to be Pacific Bell.

i've got roadrunner...i couldn't ask for anything more...i've found DSL to be slower and painful, which makes the cost cheaper. (not to mention, comp pricing to gain subscribers to jam up their lines)

Roadrunner. It's good stuff. I have every computer in my house connected to the internet (4 of 'em) and we all have great fast connection.

DSL lines don't get "jammed up". If DSL works, then the line between you and the provider is dedicated and the speed (bandwidth) is pretty much determined by how far you are from the switch.

Cable is shared ... so if a lot of people in the neighborhood happen to be surfing the web or downloading porn, then your connection will degrade ... sometimes significantly.

I have business line SBC DSL, my download speed is 1.4 Mb, my upload speed is 750Mb, The weird thing is i used to pay 60 bucks, cause of business, once i called to pay over the phone, they said if i subscribe for another year (i had subscribed only 2 months ago) they would give it for 35 bucks a month.. i didnt take my time to think about that one.. lol..

yes, i have high speed dsl, and it is better than cable.. for the reasons seaphan explained.. also.. if you want to know about the quality.. you may have a poblem depending on how far ou are from the nearest switch. In burbank i had crappy connection.. in Glendale i couldnt be happier.

dial up?? i cant believe it still exists.!
