  • Happy Thanksgiving

To all the Americans on this board which I believe is about 99.9% Happy Thanksgiving.

Just think Christmas is only a month away, another holiday, another large meal, getting together with relatives that drive you nuts.

Thanksgiving! A Nice Alternative To Xmas!

Nothing like a wonderful holiday with food and sharing that is a nice alternative to Christmas without its mass commercialization and exploitation. Thanks to the freedom of competition and exchange, people have a choice between these two, equally important holidays. I prefer to go with Thanksgiving, as it is a day of giving thanks ( in theory ), but in which Pilgrims sent elite special forces to Indian camps to steal stuff. In fact, they stole stuff from the Indians to be used as Christmas presents ( notice the sheer genius and time preference exhibited by the Pilgrims?). Even though at the time the Pilgrims did not know they were creating the recipe for an alternative holiday to Xmas, they nonetheless used the occasion of giving thanks to prepare for Christmas by buying stuff ( stealing ) from the Indians which they argued was clearly on sale. Thus, the day after Thanksgiving shopping holiday was born in which all things are on sale. So while you are shopping for your "Friends" DVDs or some stupid build-a-bear in a crowded retail store Friday after Thanksgiving, be sure to take a moment to thank our founding fathers for having the good sense to think of us while they engaged in Pilgrimage.
