Clearly the word alas doesn't hold up to scrutiny.
Folks, I think we have a winner. Although I am not much of a fan of picking up a word someone says incessantly, almost midlessly, and using it. I can, however, see how this might be amusing.
Upon further scrutiny I also see how this can, and probably will, get annoying.
