It doesn't matter who argues what and doesn't argue. What matters is that Armenia, whether we like to accept it or not, is facing a situation that is dire. Like all countries, cultures, and civilizations both now and in the past, we are fragile and we are close to the ends of finitude as anyone else. All so far that has been said is all talk, whether it's by me or you, or by the fat cat politicians with their monotous rhetoric that occupy the ivory tower in Armenia.
Armenia, as I've mentioned in a thread, faces extinction in a few centuries if current trends are not eliminted. Armenia is ofcourse in dire straits financially, morally, geographically, and demographically.
A country that was once extending from sea to sea, is now nothing but a dust particle on the surface of the globe. It is still decaying slowly but surely. The truth of the matter is, Armenia and Armenians will cease to exist in a few centuries if current trends are not reversed. Armenia demographically is at an all time low, to do Armenians having a low birth rate compared to the death rate, because of the terrible situation of living there, and also the people that flee Armenia on a daily basis out to the ethereal never world called the Diaspora, in search of those long awaited and always talked about 'opportunities'. Given the present condition of Armenia, it's lack of birthrate and ability to maintain its social and moral fabric, and the Armenians within spreading to every ungodly corner of the earth to be "de- Armenianized" will meeting their 'opportunities', and the Armenians already abroad who are showing signs of cultural decay and apathy by acting 'black' or 'whitewashed' or too good for other Armenians, it's painfully obvious Armenians won't last long.
While this pessimistic outlook is balked upon it nonetheless is true if one pays an unbiased attention to the problems. This is where the holier than thou Armenians lurk out and say "stop talking and do something". Well I'm trying. It's not just about helping your community or other mediocre things to reinforce the barrier that 'yes I am Armenian even though I live in the Diaspora I just helped my community and I sent money to Armenia also. I did my share so I don't have to move back, I can just cruise here and be Armenian from here'. That mentality is what that behavior enforces. If you are willing to help the community, plan things out, and give yourself for a noble cause, then you are just as able to move to Armenia, that ultimate step will be sufficient to prove to everyone that youre not just a 'Armo lover' in the Diaspora organizing social events and acting as a chaperone(sp), but it shows that you truly are what your name means and you live up to it.
I hope and hopefully all my plans work out, I will move there, I will live and face whatever hardships I have to. After all, our ancestors had it ten times as worse than us, and we can't tolerate that? Our ancestors would call us pussies for moving without duress. It's one thing to relocate because of a Turk's sword on your throat, it's another to willfully say 'I'm leaving my country for better opportunities to satisfy my selfish and hedonistic ends'.
If you live once then what do you live for? Youre going to all die anyway, and all the selfish things we indulge in and do, they don't make heroes out of men, nor make them known long after their deaths nor work for the betterment of a certain cause. What elevates them to greatness is their understanding of the word 'sacrifice'. If each of us Armenians are not willing to give something up for what we are, our collective make up, then we will cease to exist in the future. That's the obvious reality that Armenians are facing. If you cannot accept this on its face value, then you are trying too hard to believe in your odious ideologies that certain political organizations have imbued in you. You have to realize this problem as universal, something that goes beyond mere ideologies and political affiliation or leaning. Everyone seems to have an answer but no change. Why? Because those answers are wrong and if they were right things wouldn't be as they are still. They are not right because Armenians all don't agree with the same answer. So why not agree with something beyond mere answers and questions, sacrifice. That is the cut off of what makes you either Armenian, or nothing but another ordinary human animal.
