Unlike Tom Servo my childhood memories are perhaps further in the past then most here - however I still retain many of them vividly and cherish them (..specially the ones about getting laid...j/k) - seriously though - nearly every post made here reminded me of some of my own childhood experiences - though for me TV watching (the little I was allowed to do or did) would not rank amongst my most cherished or remembered memoires...but to date me when I was a wee little one I can remember watching Gigantor, Speed Racer, Ultraman, Lost in Space and if you can believe it - the original Star Trek series - on first run! Now that does date me!

Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)
1] What you CAN NOT post.
You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene
You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)
The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!
2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.
This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.
3] Keep the focus.
Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.
4] Behave as you would in a public location.
This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.
5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.
Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.
6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.
Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.
7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.
- PLEASE READ -
Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.
8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)
If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Kaoroper's story about the fake movie advert reminds me of two events of my youth. The first was when I as in 4th or 5th grade. Perhaps imatating older kids - I don't remember our inspiration) - but a friend of mine and I started selling joints to other kids during elementary school...well after being hauled up to the Principles office and reamed out by him and the teacher who dragged us there we confessed that our "joints" were stuffed with shredded paper!
Another caper that I will forever remember (really a series of them) occured when I was about 15 or 16 - (1977 or possibly 78 I believe...). Anyway it was the first Easter after the first Star Wars movie came out and we (a whole bunch of my friends) were attending a Science fiction convention (which were quite wild in those days...very). Well there was a lifesize R2D2 in chocolate (hollow not solid I believe) that was being offered as a convention raffle prize...well this was a big deal....so in our (late night) travels through the hotel's kitchens walk in refigerators scrounging for food (what pay for food? - you must be nuts!) well we came accross it - and kidnapped it (coverd it with something and dragged it to our room)...we then proceeded to write out a series of ransom notes in the form of clues that we planned to distribute throughout the hotel while we were going to stash the R2 somewhere where only someone possessing the proper clues would find it - that was the plan anyway. However while we were placing the clues we began to get the sense of the outrage that was building up with the convention powers that be who had found that their precious R2 had been absconded - so we chickened out and tried to return it to where we had nabbed it. Well - in the process of doing so we were jumped by several hotel security guards - whereupon we split pronto in all different directions (and all ended up with great stories to tell - including one very big & tough friend of ours - last known to be a biker tatoo artist [very talented & completely covered in very colorful highly obscene tatoos last I saw him] living in New Orleans...I guess he is still alive and well...) - who turned and leveled the guard chasing him! Doubled him over then knocked him out cold! Well I ended up with a group of about 4-5 of us and we ran into this dark courtyard and hid behind some bushes. The security guard followed us and poked around and eventually found us. He made the mistake of warning us that he was carrying a knife on him so we shouldn't try anything...and thats when we each pulled our swords out of our sheaths (yeah future generations of convention gowers can probably - at least in part - blame us for "peacebonding" - that is the prohibition of actually carrying real weapons around at SCi-Fi and other related costume & weapon conventions etc - oh well - sorry...) - so yeah we each pulled out a sword and all together surounded him - forced him to give us his knife ( and walky talky) and led him to the door out - that he had previously locked - trapping us in....and we left him locked in the courtyard! Not sure how we managed to avoid capture and punishment for that one - but we did...Yeah the memories - just one of several similar (or worse) at such...(most involved under aged drinking - and drinking of convention supplied grog! - also sorry that such is not provided anymore....)
Once at another convention (again aged 15 -16) I was twice kicked out of a hotel by the same security guard - who failed to recognize me not 2 hours seperated in time - and the first time he hauled me and some other guys & gals (all nude) out of the hotel pool where a friend had picked the lock at about 2am and let us in...then later the same guard forced us to dump out all of our (free) beer on one of the hotel rooftops (where a group of us were partying) before again leading us out the door and telling us never to come back....and not an hour later we were back on (a higher) roof (with more free beer) watching the firetrucks pull up to the front entrance while everyone else (guests and convention goers alike - many in their jammies being woken out of bed) were streaming out the doors (a buddy dropped a bunch of smoke bombs down a mail chute....! yeah - and you wonder why you don't see them anymore...)...aw the (cherished) memories...
