    Re: My Job.

They expect periods to break up sentences all the time.
They really look into punctuation. Anything else?

I mean this sincerely... I think you should take more classes.
You sound generally afraid for his life lol! Maybe you've taken too many classes! Time to apply that knowledge and make the world a better place!

There are more full time positions, in general, for ppl who have nothing more than a GED than there are for skilled laborers.

BUT in this example you are right and Lefty should get some type of teachers certification, IF this is the career path he wants to be on.

Yah, there will always be full time positions for people who clean up shit at basically no pay.

          The truth is the truth

These are the majority who keep the simple things in life going ... you know all the stuff we take for granted.

Don't forget there are plenty of restaurant jobs that require hardly any formal education yet the servers can make more than many skilled laborer jobs. Definitely more than a RA.

As a matter of fact there are still a bunch of jobs you can get with very little formal education that pay well ...

I'm a skilled laborer and I would make waayy more as a bartender at some scrubby bar. Still after I pay my dues for a couple of years things should come up pretty quick ...

I think it was quite obvious that I was not speaking in general, given that I was replying to Lefty's specific question. I'd like to think there are no teachers who have no more than a GED.
Of course people can find any job. Many of the jobs that do not require education though, also do not pay very well. I am not saying that no 'skilled laborers' make good money. Skilled implies experience and the ability to do something that not any person off the street could do without much training. The difference is excellence. If someone strives for excellence in whatever job they choose, there's usually some way to advance and/or do well.

I don't think there's such a thing as taking too many classes, but it's awfully presumptuous of you to tell me to go out and make the world a better place instead of educating myself. You hardly know anything about me or what I do and do not do. How can you make the assumption that I don't apply my knowledge or contribute anything to society?

Tell me a couple of examples other than waiting/serving (that are entirely tip based), stripping, prostitution, and drug dealing, or very special cases like athlethes/entertainers that "pay well" ... by the way, I don't consider anything under $45K a year as "paying well" ... and even then, before taxes, anything less than $60k a year I doubt is "well" in places with high cost of living such as many areas of Southern California.

SIP is right.. not many jobs out there that pay well... but I think that Siggie is being a Bit condescending, too.

Well if you want to be a kindergarten teacher @ a private school all you need is 12 units of Child Development. So right now Im looking for any private school that is hiring.

How much does a typical kindergarten teacher @ a private school get paid?

I wouldnt really know but I knew one that used to work at the school I work & she lived alone & making her payments so Im assuming its a decent pay.
