Here is a little joke with truth. Three inmates are talking:
1st prisoner says, "I'm from Exxon and I'm in prison because they say I charged too much for oil. Price gouging they called it."
2nd prisoner says, "I'm from Walmart and I'm in prison because they say I charged too little for my product. Unfair competition they called it."
3rd prisoner says, "I'm from Samsung and I'm in prison because they say I charged the same price as everyone else for my commodity DRAM chips. Price fixing they called it."
Anyway, the moral of the story is that the government is a joke when it comes to understanding prices.
I think I'll be repeating that joke at least 4 times
DO THIS: do not let the US let you think that Iran has nuclear weapons. The US CANNOT go to war with Iran. Do that if gas price is your motivation (will be at least $17/gallon in US, if so--which, alone would shut down the US economy.), do that if you care about people there, do that for any reason, but do that.
MY motivation is the people--especially little children--who would die in a war, far worse than Iraq.
IRAN is acting like a bully, but DOESN'T have WMD. Iran should let the UN in and work with the UN, for sure.
Here's a solution - screw the hybrids and drive one of these:
Or, better...
Here's a pic of somethin' like the setup I have ($0 in petrol):
(Though this summer was the first time I've been able to actually ride a bike for a couple of years, following knee and neck injuries in a bad car accident. My daughter was tiny the last time she rode, and she's 5 now... But that made me happy to be able to do so.)
