you just have to talk to them freely and you notice this right away. Many of us at some point must've complained that "girls think this of us because we're this way" etc... but maybe it's because we approach them with a futile, defeatist mindset that can only help out to bring our unattractive side!

Just talk to them and share what you think is interesting, like you would to anyone else. Your comfort level will rise and you will be noticed!

As if a girl will really only see you as a friend and nothing more forever. Yeah right, she may think of you as a friend but even after years, it can lead onto something personal. It's different with every man and every female. If you're so hung up over this then you are definitely not ready for a relationship. You'll appreciate it much more once you understand it.
Don't underestimate the ability of the female to categorize males into "potential mate" and "friend/gay/pervert/ugly", my friend.

They do this within seconds; they have to because even the average woman gets plenty of come-ons a day. It's there way of sorting out the rubbish from the gold. If a girl is really interested in you she will not be "wishy-washy" about it and she'll keep coming on to you. If she's not she may say things similar to "oh I don't have time" or "my grandma died" etc., etc. you get the picture.

Or if she "doesn't have time" or is "busy" lmao. A girl will make time for you if she likes you enough. I agree with everything Sip said. Be friends with her, but don't let that go on for too long because then she'll put you in the "friends only" category.

    First of all be nice.

Second of all there's nothing wrong with being friendly. Don't think of "friendship" as some sort of bad thing.

The more friends you have that are cute girls, the easier it'll be for you to meet a lot more girls and hang out with them. So it is definitely NOT a bad thing to know girls even just as "friends" (whatever that means).

The rest is pretty easy ... and it usually starts of as you asking the girl out for something ... doesn't even matter what. Coffee, dinner, movie, beach, whatever.

The answer you get back will tell you exactly what you can expect. If she says "yes" then great. If she says "no", you have some work to figure out what that really means. If the answer is a clear no (most often it won't be very direct), then that's it. But if the answer is vague, then give it some time and try again. If every time you try (a couple times or so) she has an excuse, with no hint that "try again", then that's it. Just move on.

But if there is a hint to try again, then do it! Hints can be in the form of "oh maybe some other time" or "I'll take a raincheck" or something similar. Don't get too stressed out over girls. They're just people like you. Who knows, maybe they're worried about how they appear to YOU. Just talk to them like they're people. If they don't like what you say, move on and cut your losses. Simple as that.

Its been a week of school already, and there are a few armenian girls out there that are very cute, but none of em have I approached yet to be friends with. I just don't know if I talk to a girl, if I will just end up being "just friends", or if I'll be that guy who will potentially be something more, you know?

I don't even know what to do these days. I just don't know how to approach her, and if/when I do become friends with em, when do i tell them how I feel, if I even feel anything more then just a physical attraction? I just get the feeling that I might be too late and pass up on the offer of true love without even knowing it.

Anyway, school started and homeworks stacking up, so I won't be able to go on as much, but again, thank you all for your advice!

You don't have to try to do anything. Just keep it casual. If you see them or walk passed them, just say "Hi!" Remember, confidence is the key. If you think of it in terms of you are just saying hi and you're not out to approach them, it becomes easier, you are more relaxed, more your natural self because you don't care whether you get their number or not, you just care about showing you are comfortable in your own skin.
