except for very few rare cases...TRUE SINCERE friendship in its most PURE form is next to impossible to have with the opposite sex!!!
someone always develops something for the other person...that's just the way it goes...

      Anileve, youre my new rolemodel.

And as dusken said- its depends on the person, some can have freinds of the opposite sex and some cannot without having other things in mind, like , taking advantage of you.

It is apparent from this thread that I was right and some can do it and others cannot. However if everyone wants to keep going back and forth with their rock solid, highly educated, anthropologically sound arguments supporting absolutes, there is entertainment to be gained from it.

I don't agree. And what if one has a "thing" for the other person...whats wrong with that? (or even if they both have a thing for each other - but choose to just be friends because of circumstances/other involvements...can happen you know...) It doesn't even mean that anything will happen...or that anyone even really wants it to happen...it could just be sexual attraction...and that is natural...or it could even be love....even in the latter case (or either) it doesn't at all have to mean a sexual relationship...or even if it does...there are cases where the friendship could still be the paramount factor in the relationship....I know because I've been there...

Well don't get me wrong I am immensely flattered, but what exactly lead you to that conclusion? Will you please feed my ego, it's a bit starved lately.

Because I am too charitable and humanistic by nature to effect such deprivation.
