As Tommy James would say, "love is the answer."

Perhaps that's because love, other than between a parent and child, is a facade. And even that appears to be fading quickly. Maybe this isn't because human quality has dilapidated, but rather because love was a fictional luxury all along.

no dear, i'm afraid you're wrong!! love is not a facade! lust and desire are but not true love and caring..it's too much of a good thing..that's what love is ...an abundance, a well of joy and humans simply don't know what to do with it..except screw it and take it for granted..it really is THAT simple!

Lust and desire are not facades; they are the most honest feelings a person can have. They are pure, unadulterated animal impulses. "Come over here and let's f*ck." What can be more honest than that?

Hmmmm....that's a convincing argument and all but I'm not buying it. For starters, how is lust/desire, the only thing that all people have, regardless of faith, cutlure, time period they were born, gender, mental capacity, etc, a facade? Secondly, I think people need to take a deeper look into the root of where "love" comes from. If what you're saying is true, it would be impossible for humans to separate themselves from love. However, I think it is possible. If you dig deep enough, I think you'll find that people love the ones they love usually to fulfill a need to not be alone, to connect with someone. We translate "someone stopping our loneliness" into love. This doesn't make love, in the way we think of it, any more real. If you could reach a state of mind where you can find fulfillment in things other than people, I think that the existence of love in our current perception of the word would die.

i see what you're trying to say, but that IS love right there! not needing, not despairing, not longing, not suffering, not depending, that IS the true definiton of love, for one can only love in the purest form when one is in balance with him/herself and can give freely and unconditionally and be at peace...

true experience of love can only be achieved when the personality/soul has self-actualized...thus, the reason most suffer...as humans that's one of the biggest lessons we have to learn on earth...to learn to love and live and most importantly to let go..if we learn to let go of the pain and the suffering that plagues all of us throughout our lifetime not only will we be happier but our bodies will be healthier too...illness or dis-ease is the manifestation of aberrations in our thoughts and the inability to properly filter and process our emotions...what you hold onto will eventually destroy you one way or the other that's why we have to forgive people...so that we may find peace and calm in ourselves....
