Some prostitutes do what they do for money because thats the only fast and easy way they can get the money...there are single mothers who feel like the only way they can buy their kids what they want is by easily spending a few nights with a few men...its just sad b/c what the kids really need cannot be bought, they need a mom they can love, respect and look up to.

yeah actually its made by a swedish director, It was really horrible and sad film to see, this lilja really existed and the story has happaned in reality. But i doubt that she took suiciude the real lilja, i almost think that someone killed her..They showed a documentary on swedish televsion about the real Lilja. No one really knew if she after she ran away, killed herself, or if someone got a hold of her. Imagine, girls are beeing kidnapped on the streets and sold as prostitutes.

There are licenses for prostitution in some states. It's a job and a dangerous one I should say.

I don't know if I'd consider that prostitution. I mean, are the girls getting paid? If they're not, then it's rape. Yea, also parents in poor countries selling their children (mostly girls) knowing that their girls are going to be raped. Just unbelievable.
