Have you been to Italy to judge if actual Italian cuisine is better than in New York?

It isn't, but I said variety. You won't find good Thai food or good Caribbean food or good food other than Italian in Italy.

Plus, it really depends where you are in Italy. I greatly prefer the southern cuisine.

I think he was refering to the fact that you can find a variety, such as Thai, Caribbean, and Italian, of good food in NYC, while in Italy you most likely would find only good Italian food.

The reason why diversity is a strength is because we need to see diverse people, because diverse people mean diverse colors, and it's good exercise for the retina of our eyes to see diverse colors, as 1 out of 35 optometrists claim, because we always gotta keep our eyes in check. Diversity is a strength!
