Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

  • I guess its time for me to add my opinion here too...

Armenians mixing: Armenians have always mixed... Armenians are not a “pure” culture... culture is created by societies, genetics have nothing to do with culture... why is that a Greek person looks exactly like ME and YOU, why is it that an Iranian person looks exactly like ME and YOU??? WHY? if genetics played any role in culture, then all the Greek people, all the Iranians, all the Iraqis, all the Italians, all the French, all the people that look like ME AND YOU are actually all Armenians, after all we look alike, and thats ALL GENETICS says, hair color, skin color, eye color, hiegth, weight, structure of body, etc... BUT THAT is a flawed argument, it s pure BS...

    1. Armenians are already a mix: in the Urartu Plateau there existed many tribes; some of them were the Hayasa, the Armens, the Sarkis, the Areves, the Anahits, the Naris, the Irans, the Hurris, the Urartus, and etc…; now we can all agree that Armenian was pretty f&$ing huge in the Urartu days... but think about the peoples names that existed then. Why do we call ourselves HAY, and others call us Armenians? Why is it that we call our country Nari? and many Armenians say that at one point the Persians and Armenians lived under one rule... why is it that it wasn’t until the 20th century that Armenians started to have their last names end in “ian”… ??? so they called their country IRAN and we called our country NARI, we considered ourselves brothers and sisters, ones who came from the same forefathers…
Armenians, just like other cultures, had many wars, had many problems with kings and queens, and so everytime there as a war, the people who WON got to name the country to their fancy, and so the strongest name that survived (see how I am not saying the strongest culture) was the Armens in the west and the Hays in the northeast. Go read a history book, by UCLA history professor, Richard somebodyian; anywho, not only is this in existent in Armenians but it also is present in other cultures. Like the all the Scandinavian countries, Finland, Sweden, Switzerland, and so on… they all look alike, if genetics had something to say about that, it would say that they are all the SAME, but if you ask a Swedish person they will tell you there are SO MANY differences in between them and the Swiss, or the Finish… but the point is that at one point or another people were ruled by a group of people, and those people, the dominant ones always won the wars, so they named the country SWEDEN, (remember the vickings?) or whatever anyway, culture is only created by people, and people are the ones who continue it, but that does not mean that one should not merry an otar, it means that people are accepted into cultures by the rules and traditions set by those cultures and so they continue that culture.
For example the Armenians have always intermarried with some arabs, and some Russians, these people have been accepted by the Armenian culture and so they were “OK” to intermarry, and so their children would often be Armenian as well…

I don’t think that we are very mixed at all, I think we are a conservative culture, but we bend our rules for people we care about and respect. And so hence the arabs and the Russians… why is it that an Armenian person can have blond hair and blue eyes and another can have brown hair and brown eyes, and still they are BOTH so full blooded Armenians that you cant tell them apart, LIKE my hor-yeghpayr’s daughter she has BLUE eyes and BLOND hair, WHY? Well because her grandmother is half Armenian and half ukranian, but she grew up in Armenia, in Ashtarak, that’s right this woman grew up in Armenia, in a little villiage, her parents were different races but hey I don’t consider my aunt not full Armenian, she is VERY Armenian, she is so Armenian that she doesn’t believe in Armenians mixing, and she is a mix herself… WTF? YUP

I also laugh at the claim that its because of interracial mixes why societies fail statement made by anony, because its actually the opposite! The only reason why countries have ever remained good with each other has always been because they find “THEMSELVES” in those cultures. Like the Persians and the Armenians, they co-existed for YEARS, and the only reason we were divided was because of RELIGION! Not culture.

So anony, I think that you are smart and that is a great things, but you must think a little further to understand first where you are really from, then you understand how you are going to continue to exist in that culture.

You know stalin was half Armenian… he didn’t give a rats a$$$$$ about Armenians, but that’s probably because his mother was not Armenian and she raised him to believe that the Armenians were terrible people, don’t believe me, go read a freak history books, he was born from a prostitute and an Armenian guy, the Armenian daddy left, she hated him and so she taught him to HATE Armenians… but if in that house stalin was taught that he is half Armenian, he would not hate Armenians, he would want to find out the other half of him, and probably he would never have done such terrible things to Armenians.

You know who else is half Armenian – Gary Gasparov the world chess winner for YEARS! He is a GENIUS! he is half Armenian half jewish, and guess what, we Armenians cling on to him as being Armenian, even though he is only half, but we don’t talk about stalin too much; why because we as a culture have accepted mr. gasparov, and we say YA! He is Armenian; then there is the guy who invented the “rubic cubic” and guess what he was half Armenian and I believe half Russian. And we accepted him, but we did not accept stalin; and I can go on with this list of modern day figures that we accept as being Armenian. But why stop there, lets talk about the goddess of love Anahit, and the same goddess existed in Greece, why? Have the same freakin goddess? Well because someone decided to, and maybe that someone was a powerful figure in our culture, who was schooled in Greece. I cant verify that with the life of me, but you know many parts of that are true…

You know that they adopted our ways, and we adopted their ways, and all is history, and we eat the same food, we listen to the same music, we talk so much alike, and we LOOK so much alike that it is embarrassing to even say that we never mixed.

Its so important for people to think outside of their little world; you are not the only culture in this world who think you are the purest, every culture thinks they are the purest, but we can argue with them day and night, for example the turks, the Georgians, the azerbajanis, WHO ELSE? You think a little now, and realize that maybe its not about saying “I prefer,”or “I think that people should not mix” but its about understanding that this WHOLE world is a mix, if it wasn’t then the Armenian population would never have increased after the genocide… what were we going to do, marry cousins? There were some cases of this happening but not many, and 90% of the Armenians that remained in this world, after the genocide did not live around Armenians, and so they had to intermarry and we are a product of that, but hey I HAVE THE ARMENIAN FLAG in my HOUSE, and I have a painting of ARARAT in my HOUSE, and I know the hymn, and I know many poems, and I’m sure you do too, but what if you found out that maybe one of your grandparents was Egyptian, or Russian, or Iranian, but you are so patriotic and you SAY every morning to yourself, I AM ARMENIAN, I LOVE ARMENIA, and I am going to fight to marry in my culture, and I believe that we should all marry in our culture, but the news shocks you and you then justify to yourself that its ok, hey, I grew up with Armenian up bringing, and I speak Armenian, I went to Armenian school, and I ate Armenian food everyday, and so the old argument that you had about “purity” which is what HITLER also had, (and he wasn’t even “pure’ himself, he was half Austrian and half Hungarian, and he was trying to rule Germans) what a MORON, what a DUMB A$$$$$$ argument he had) goes DOWN THE TOILET!

So I hope that we have all learned a lesson from this, and I hope that it was the same lesson, that Armenians, are the way that they are because of the mixes that we have had, we are wonderful people, and we are stupid people too, but we are not pure, there is no such thing in this world, not even the Japanese are “pure” why? Because of the Koreans, the vietmanese, the Chinese, the laos, the mongs, all of those people… they all look some much alike (just like the Greeks and Armenians) that its unrealistic to believe that they never intermarried. They may claim that, but remember so do the Armenians.

    Thanks for your time...

It's not being mean it's being objective. I scanned through it, and it was full of nonsensical bromide that has already been addressed a trillion other times before on this forum.

Why she had to go into Armenian history to supposedly make her case, befuddles me, but it's annoying. Stick to the topic. If she wants to justify her interracial taste buds all she had to say is "I like dating non-Armenians", instead of a long diatribe of justifying her prurient ways.

Yes, and this is my "belief". In this world there are correct and incorrect views and knowledge, and she resides with the incorrect ones. Just because someone believes in something wholeheartedly, doesn't mean it shouldn't be exposed for what it is, horsepucky.

Yea, don't pay attention to egalitarian feminist ones, they have no arguments and no evidence aside from appealing to their own ignorance.

                    • The weakpoint in the argument is that all the intermixing that happened in the past was very local. Basicly whoever you could xxxx within walking distance. Or maybe on a mule if you were feeling adventurous. That's not the issue we face today, especially not in America.
