    This won't happen though

My parents had arranged marriage, and it turn out to be the best thing that ever happened to them.

But personally, I'd like to meet myself that certain person and later to ask their opinion about him.

This is why 'most guys' are idiots.

marriages that do not have spiritual connection and are made for hedonistic reasons last longer? marriage is not just any institution, its fundamental in the human existence. bonding of people should should come from love. if not, it will be unhappy and violent. just look at what a quater century of advocation of "sex for fun" and "cheating is a birthright" brought people to. thats why more and more people tend to look at marriage with a sceptical eye. there is a big question, whats the point of marriage, if people break up anyway?
I am not saying that all arranged marriages are happy and successful. However, there are a lot of people who had an arranged marriage and it worked out for them. They learnt how to respect and love each other eventually. The chances of arranged marriage to fall apart are the same as the chances of marriage by love. As if there are no people who loved each other and still got divorced?

            whats the difference anyway.
your whole life is already planned. man do not act free, they are deluded that their act free but they are actually controled by their hormones.
you falling in love is not planned by you, its spontaneous. you dont have control over your emotions. people dont go around picking people that they are gonna love.
personally my parents are not really big "wife pickers". but if they advice me a girl, i would be interested. why not. so its really a hypothetical question.

if your parents have the same taste as you or know what type of girl would interst you, then yeah why not date them?

well your pick is usually unwise. thats why many cultures have arranged marriages, because parents know better.
remember even a pagan father doesnt feed his son rock instead of bread. its a biological bond

No way, i wouldn't consider an arranged marriage if my life depended on it. Im very sure my parents can pick a great wife for me, but thats just not me. I grew up in Canada, it makes us totally different ppl unfortunately. Heck my oldest brother and my 2 sisters have diff. outlooks on life because of the ages we all arrived here. Im the youngest one out of 4. My oldest 2 siblings have pretty much the same views on life. The 3rd sister is 28 and she has a bit more Candianized. I came to Canada when i was 7 an there are light years of diff. between me and my oldest sibling. Imagine the diff. from me to my parents. So just imagine what kinda girl they would pick for me.
