  • Re: Are You Currently In A Relationship?

I'm thinking I might fly out to VA for a weekend. "He" who I've been friends with for awhile (approaching 2 years) is a nice guy. He is a spitting image for "fez" on the 70's show. I'm serious.

He isn't just 'looking for' with me... we wouldn't talk this long. Maybe.

I don't know that this is the right thread to post, or even if I should. I GOTTA vent somehow.

I am feeling sad about a relationship I lost and another that I hope I didn't harm.

This morning I made breakfast for my 5 year old child (a little girl... odd subtopic for later.) She at her apple cinnamon toast while I sorted laundry. We were packing to go away for a few days. I found a weird (heavy) basket in my bedroom (my daughter packed that basket full of blankets and pillows...AND) I picked the basket up and moved that aside while I put away laundry. About 5 minutes later, I went to the bathroom. (I have a condo with 2 bedrooms.) While I was there, my daughter got frantic and said 'mommy, don't go in my bedroom.'

I'm peeing in the bathroom and saying, "what?" She said, "I forgot what you told me about wrapping up Cody like a dolly.... Kitty isn't moving." (THE KITTY was wrapped up in blankets. She died.) That's horrible.

I later learned that my child hid what happened because she knew that what she did was naughty. She knew that wrapping up kitties like dollies was very bad (But, if I knew the moment my kid found out there was a problem, I could have maybe saved the cat. I feel very guilty. I've, in the past, given CPR to a neighbor's cat that was in a house fire and the EMT's even arrived to give oxygen for the little girl's cat (who lost her house) (I didn't give 'mouth to mouth', in case you woner, it's a learned technique with the hand cupped around the mouth of an animal to give breath).

This happened and then my child tried to 'hide' what happened from me. After that time hiding, there was no hope to save her, Cody.

Cody died. I could not revive her. She was an old cat (I've had her with me for 1/2 my whole life) who lived a good life, with an animal rights activist, non-the-less. Still, I wonder if she )daughter) ignored my STRONG NO'S about that (much like don't talk to strangers), what else could she ignore or 'forget'?

Now I'm even more worried about my child, my daughter....

Plus, today my car broke down and my daughter got her fingers smashed in the in the inner/hinge part of a door (and also failed to tell me there was a problem... just eeeeemmmmm(gettin louder...) .. till I SAW!)

I'm not going to be subtle. I am in need of some kind of sympathy or kindness, right now.

When I was in high school, there was a weird 'breakout' of fires in garbage cans. Fire alarms... everyone out of school, etc. There was this one guy who put out the first fire with his bare hands....

Then, there was another fire and 'this guy' AGAIN, like a superhuman, put out that fire too!

Doesn't take too much detective work to figure out that the 'fireman' is also the pyromanic. Sometimes, I FEEL LIKE THAT ABOUT SOME GODS!

If you had to vent, why not post it in The Vent Thread?

Try and teach your child that making a mistake or having an accident isn't wrong, and she shouldn't keep it from you. Let her know every single person makes many many mistakes/has accidents, keeping it from you will only make things worse.

When I was that young, I used to keep small accidents I would have from my parents because they would get way too upset/stressed over it (even though I didn't really care)

Are any of you in a relationship? Dating someone? Or even just talking to someone, trying to get to know them to make something happen in the future?

No.. my last real relation was over a year ago with a russian girl. we lasted about 2 years and my move from st. louis to phoenix was pretty much the break up.. although we tried the long distance thing on and off..she was about to move down with me but i decided to cut it off since i could not trust her!

Although it has it's ups and downs, I enjoy being single for the most part. I am able to spend more time with friends and to fully devote time to goals.. I've been on several dates but it seems the older I am getting the pickier I get as well.

sorry to re-post an old question.

I am sad that One-way’s thread was canceled (per his request).

His thread was (to paraphrase—that is, let’s pretend the topic is….) ‘the differences between men and women…’

What are the differences? What is similar? Why don't women just say what they think! Why can't men be more understanding? If women don't say, how do they expect men to be understanding? etc...
