Hmm Gizzy, your mind seem very confused about this "being european" thing as some Armenians. Gizzy, my friend, you are not european, you are Turkish, ok? Hello?? Gizzy, you are Turkish, no matter you have some sort of ashamed with your origin. No matter you try to show yoursef something more western with gene theories, reality hurts. You are Turkish Gizzy. I am very sad for you, but this is the reality Gizzy. You are Turkish.

    Second,
"turkey is using cyprus to enter european union"

    Whatttt?????

We want the army off the island but you wouldnt let go so you have to pay a price!...coz your army loves to be in cyprus coz they "lazy around" on their a**es... you dont have the right to be here...you all know it very well but it is to your benefit to keep your army on our island...you cant deny it...all of us know it....!! Oh and turkey is using cyprus to enter european union...so who is dying to be european?

Hmm, interesting argument. Since we consider that Turkey send all money to Cyprus, even we pay your salaries. Without Turkey you do not produce anything and only wait money from Turkey. Because you are lazy mediterraneans who spend our money and make fiesta at the mediterranean coasts.

Gizzy, don't take too much serious what I say

lool...yes my people are more civilized and educated than your people back in turkey...I am sure u are aware of the pooverty and uneducation problem in Turkey...You have people begging on the street and people who suffer from hunger coz of your "useless" government who only think of their own be[B]nefit...Your people are still blinded by religion and the politicians are using this for their benefit.Your government is also causing trouble in cyprus with their army...I do not feel european, I feel mediterrean.whats wrong with that? Why are you having problems with it?
You have come to cyprus so you should know...werent the old poeple angry at you when you were being uncivilized on the streets? We are not happy about your government sending their criminals to our island..!!!
Ask any cypriot and they will tell you how they are agitated by the turkish troops on our island. Dont get me wrong, we dont have problems with turkish but you guys make things harder for us... Are you aware how many turkish cypriots migrated away just coz our problems are still unsolved...?If we are all same with turkey(cultural wise) why do you think none of us like your government, why do you think none of us want your people be citizens of our country? Its cause your government seek benefit and you dont really like us, only think you want is the army being on the island thats it...

"Referring back to the question... Turkish cypriots have different culture than turkish people in turkey...In general we tent to be less religious and more "mediterranean" due to the cultural mixings we had through generations. Woman are allowed to wear whatever they like, there is democracy between man and woman, cypriots wont kill for "honour" issues as some people in turkey does, we are allowed to say whatever we like(freedom of speech though turkey is getting on our nerves coz they put pressure on us) and protestants are not "attacked" by our own police(that is how it is in turkey in general), the education rate is same as any other european country ( in turkey there is a high rate of uneducation) and majority of people attent to university...etc
and also we have our "own version" of turkish mixed with latin and greek words and messed up grammer ^^...

Re: Is it wrong to date Turkish Cypriot people?

hmmm...the difference comes from the splits in history...Greek cypriots (also called rums) came to the island during the byzantine empire around 1200. Turkish cypriots came to the island during the Ottoman rule around 1500...

Ottoman empire moved a minority of "muslim" population to the island>>> arabs, albanians, maronites etc... At ottoman times, all muslims were called turk and orthodox christians were called rums.During the downfall of ottoman empire they rent the island to English as form of a "defence alliance"(1878)... During the ww1, the english said "the island is ours know, we pay no rent"(1925) and they colonized the island... There came the british rule and the problems started among the people because of the "divide and rule" strategy of the british...

Many civilizations passed over cyprus... The island has a strategic position and therefore the big rulerz at the time always wanted to own cyprus... other cilivilaztions that conquered cyprus include the venetians, roman empire, persians, egyptians...The new coming population mixed with the existing one and contributed to the gene pool...

and the rums...they also have their of "greek version" they use some turkish words in their language, they are more litterate than greeks etc..

you can find more of our culture here ^^:

I know this is offtopic, but what's the difference between Greeks and Greek Cypriots, and also between Turks and Turk Cypriots (besides that they live in different places)?

I think it is probably uneducation and stupidity that triggers the devil inside one's heart. If all the people realized that war brings pain and suffering only, world would have been a better place for all of us...

^^ If you meant to say "you should put yourself in others' shoes to understand them" then I agree with you...It can also be called as "empathy"...It is the only way one can understand the true feelings of the opposite and is a necessity for objective reasoning...
