I'm Greek to begin with, so it is probably of no concern of mine, however, I've read that the Armenians are a nation with the least infiltration of other races and this it is pretty cool! This is probably why some characteristics and the national identity is kept so strong...in this world of globalisation I find it quite admirable!

I believe (and I can only speak here as an "Odar" ofcourse ) that it is not just a matter of blood but rather more a matter of the essence-
I feel that, just as we as individuals cannot entirely be defined by our physical form, neither can a nation.

I've never dated an Armenian. It's hard meeting Armenians unless you are heavly involved with an Armenian organization or if you live in an Armenian community.

Tell me about it. I just moved out here in Jan. and I have met 1 Armenian who is the manager at the Star Chicken at the Howard Hughes Parkway ... that's it. So I suppose it's my fault that I haven't introduced myself into the Armenian community, but I know if I do that ppl are going to try and get me married or something else scary, and if I want to hang with "outsiders" I'll get a bunch of flak. This thread proves it beyond a shadow of a doubt.

Besides I'm already watered down (lol) so no REAL Armenian woman would have me. It's kinda liberating to be a halfie ... I mean I feel I have more choices (read freedoms) than the rest of you in-, er I mean, "purebreds". lol

I hope ppl here understand how speciation works ... through selective inbreeding. So supporting the notion of only marrying another 100% Armenian supports inbreeding. The effects of inbreeding are far more severe in a negative way than hybridization. Nature supports hybridization and does not reward inbreeding as evidenced by hybrid vigor. Evidence?? Ok hypothetically an African marries an Armenian. Their children will have more natural defenses against different diseases and such than either of their parents. Why?? Because of hybridizing the children reap the benefits of two separate lines of genetic codes where each line has specific benefits.

Want to hear some evidence that inbreeding is bad? Look at dogs and perhaps more specifically the German Shepherd. Almost all "purebred" dog lines have issues, but the problem with Shepherds is obvious and very sad. It's called hip dysplasia and it ruins these animals. This issue is directly linked with inbreeding and it's getting worse as they continue to inbreed the purebred pedigree. Actually the whole story about how we created all the different types/lines of dogs is really sick.

Anyway for a time inbreeding was useful in defining civilizations and cultures that developed differently and and now that we, or some of us, are no longer in the dark ages it's time to come back together to hybridize so that the human genome will strengthen. You all act as though defining cultures is somehow more important than furthering the ENTIRE human race. Nice ... way to go Armos!! Go on Anon blast away ...

Anyway ... just to finish things up I would love to date an Armenian girl but where are they? ;How much time do ppl think I have?? I mean it's not like L.A. is the cheapest place to live on the planet so I'm stuck on work all the time. Sooooo if Armenian girls only hang out with groups of other Armenians in Armenian communities then the odds of me EVER meeting an Armenian lady are slim to none. There it is ...

That will make most ppl here happy as I won't water down another purebred Armenian, right?

It might seem a bit impertinent to say this, but I don't think that people with other cultural backgrounds could ever understand our traditions and values.
Therefore I cannot understand how some Armenians can actually say that they feel more comfortable with dating other nations...

With my limited experience I can say that I've never ever felt the need to date boys from other nations, like Germans, because there are plenty other Armenian fish in the sea

I even dare to say that I've met a lot more interesting people in our Armenian community than in my normal social circles, with is proof for our superiority xD

All I want to say is, that it's true that we can't help who we fall in love with, but it is always our decision who we take up with^^

So embrace your Armenian loved ones around you my brothers and sisters

I understand you. And consider this: Once you fall in love it is hard to fall out of love and your heart says yes yes; but your mind tells you otherwise. It may take a good while to start forgetting about him, but in time you will overcome that loving and intense feelings. You can also start seeing other people and soon enough you may start to fall for someone else.

I am saying for the ones who start falling for an odar guy or a girl.

Yeah love is blind ... in many ways but especially in the sense of you'll probably love someone outside of your ethnic group at least once in a lifetime. I would think that ... imo that's a good thing as I already stated.

Traditions being passed down has less to do with who you marry and more to do with how near and dear to your heart you and the rest of your family hold everyones traditions. It's about respect and actually staying part of the culture.

I was born in the US, so were my parents, grandparents came here in 1916,,


I never met an Armenian guy in my entire life since im from a non armenian area thats why i never dated one. Would love to meet one..
I have dated Italian, Irish, je w ish, Hungarian, Albanian, British, Dutch, German, Swedish, Norwegian, Polish.
I got along with all..
Had a good experience with everyone except the j ew ish guy, his family had a problem with me being armenian. Hid Dad told me the Genocide is debateable, I told him he an uneducated man. Well that was the end of that.

Funny story, I was at a bar, some guy was hitting on me, had no idea what i am, he starts bragging about being Turkish.. I turned him down he got mad.

As much as a part of me wants to agree with the above statement, I feel compelled to disagree Love can blind, yes, but in many many ways it also opens your eyes to things. It liberates and yet cages you too. I think the saying that "there is no good without evil" can be applied to love as well. There cant be love without hate and there cant be sight without blindness.
In my personal experiances love had opened my eyes and its because of that experiance that I am so greatful now for the ability of looking at things a little more clearly and open.

I've never dated an Armenian. For me, dating is a slow enough process as it is. I'm 19 and I've had 1 relationship and I've only dated one other person. They were both pretty much Canadian you could say, with various European ancestry of which a good part is English/French.

Oh, and I don't believe that love is blind anymore. I just believe that you can love someone you feel comfortable with and can open up to. If you have feelings for someone but can't open up with them, then your love won't really be able to reach them, and so it must eventually die down.

I think the only time you can continue to love someone even if it doesn't reach them very well is if you're a relative or friend who wants the best for the person in question. It just doesn't work in the scenario of a relationship.
