Re: Evolution
Something (and Don) tells me maybe I shouldn't even bother scanning the relevant sections that provide the very evidence you requested. Because apparently when you requested it, you weren't doing it in earnest.
Interesting how it's the depraved atheistic scientist that's behaving more ethically.

Re: Evolution
Ah beautiful. He replied rather quickly... There are indeed intermediates with shorter necks!
Here's what he said...
Dear xxxxxx,
I think we met at TAM9, right? Yes, there are transitional fossils showing the evolution of long-necked giraffes from short-necked ones like the modern okapi (and most fossil forms). They are illustrated in my 2007 book "Evolution." I don't think they are widely available on line yet, because the original fossils have not yet been published. You can cite my book instead if that helps, and if you want I can send you the figure.
BUT WHY are you wasting time debating creationists? NO amount of evidence or data will convince them, so it's just an exercise in frustration and like beating your head against a wall. Unless you enjoy it, I'd ignore them from now on.
Don
Here's the Okapi he mentioned.

Bio education -- there are no giraffe's with the short neck. It would be a different species, that's the intermediate.
This is what creationists do... You offer evidence that's consistent with evolution and not Creationism and they dismiss it and ask for something else. That something else is also dismissed... Yet they never offer evidence that fits with Creationism, but not evolution.

I know I came across an intermediate to the giraffe somewhere and recently too, but I can't find it in google right now, amidst all the ID drivel. It's taking time I don't have to spend while at work. I did something better though, and asked author and professor Don Prothero if he knows of it. Waiting for a reply.
